Price: $4.99 * Buy At: Target * Size: 11.5 g The Wet n Wild Megaglo Illuminating Palette in Catwalk Pink is a four shade illuminating compact. The Megaglo Illuminating Palette comes in a large pan with a clear lid, which I prefer so that you can see the inside powder. Since the pan is quite large, you could use the four shades separately with the right brush--I tend to use the two lighter shades on the left side of the compact. The powder applies smoothly to the skin, it does not look chalky or glittery, as some drugstore highlights can appear. On my more fair skintone, Catwalk Pink is not a super intense highlight, but could appear more dramatic on a darker complexion. Since the shades lean towards the pink side, this highlight could work well on top of a blush as well! If you are searching for an affordable highlighter, I would definitely recommend this one XOX ♥

I absolutely love the Buxom Eyeshadow Bar. I think the line is very underrated. You customize your palette with six shadows for $40, and you can move the shadows around to different palettes as you see fit. I actually have 24 shades, but since three of them are not available as singles, I did not include those in the swatches. As you can see in the swatches, the Buxom Eyeshadow Bar shadows have intense pigmentation. If you have not tried them out, I would definitely recommend them.
The Zoeva 225 Luxe Eye Blender Brush is a slightly tapered fluffy brush made with natural bristles. Zoeva markets the brush for the sole purpose of blending out eye shadow. I find this brush to be rather similar to the Zoeva Luxe Petit Crease Brush. The Eye Blender is a bit more dense and doesn’t come to a point like the Petit Crease does. I originally thought it might be a bit dense for crease color, but it actually works pretty nice for applying a medium or darker shade right in the crease. I occasionally use it for applying a shadow along my lashline for some extra definition, but it’s too big to do much detail work. I prefer using this brush for applying eye shadow, rather than just blending out existing color, as the name would suggest. XOX ♥
Price: $6.99 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 4 mL The Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Brooklyn Thorn is a dark grey mauve with a demi matte finish. The Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks come in a colored plastic tube and have a long, slanted wand. Brooklyn Thorn applies opaquely to the lips thanks to its highly pigmented formula. Once applied, the product will not move around on the lips, but it does not dry completely matte, which makes it more comfortable than a traditional matte liquid lipstick. On the lips, the product is not sticky whatsoever and has a slightly moisturizing aspect. Brooklyn Thorn can get a bit uncomfortable throughout the day, but it reapplies easily on top of the existing color without crumbling or appearing uneven. The wear time is between a typical lipstick and a matte liquid lipstick, so it is best to keep the product on you for touch-ups. I love grey toned lip colors, and Brooklyn Thorn could be a more easy-to-wear shade if you are interested that kind of color. XOX ♥
Price: $28 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 0.39 oz The Fiona Stiles Sheer Sculpting Palette is a trio of matte contour shades. The palette comes in two shades, the shade I purchased, of course, is Light/Medium. The Sheer Sculpting Palette has a faceted purple lid and a decent sized mirror on the inside. All three shades come in a fairly large square pan, perfect for a contour or bronzer brush. This trio has a very light taupe shade, a light warm taupe and a medium dark warm taupe. The lightest shade is almost too light for me, which is really saying something. However, this makes it a great shade for blending out the darker shades, giving an even more natural appearance. The darkest shade is a bit on the warm side, but it can still work for my skintone. As the name suggests, the shades are somewhat sheer. This is designed to make contouring more foolproof and to avoid a harsh line. The more sheer pigmentation makes blending quite easy and it gives a more natural looking contour. When using this palette, you can still give the face dimension, but it does not appear obvious that you have contoured your face. XOX ♥
How To | Step by StepTo transition the green shadow, I started off by applying Risque from the Too Faced Natural Matte Eye Shadow Collection all through the crease. Right in the crease I applied Fern from the Sleek Ultra Matte V2 Darks iDivine Palette. I brought it down on the lids just a bit, so that the lid color would blend with the green. For the lid color, I used Maui Wowie from Urban Decay and transitioned it into the inner corner with Kitten from Stila. I used more Risque along my lower lashline and focused Fern right below the waterline. To complete the look, I curled my lashes and applied mascara as usual.
XOX ♥ Electric Lady Pink & Sea Dreams Green Color Mascaras * $2.99The pink mascara does take some building up to really see the color on the lashes. The teal needs some building up as well, but it does hold onto the lashes better than the pink. If you have light eyelashes, it would work great, but my lashes are pretty dark, so a light color needs some layers. I have three coats on my lashes in the picture. As you can see in the picture, I put this mascara on my brows as well on top of my typical brown Anastasia DipBrow Pomade. I think it looks pretty cool, and if you have pink or teal hair and want to match your brows, I would totally recommend just trying a colored mascara as a brow gel. Zombie Bride Painter's Palette * $2.99Wet n Wild has multiple cream Painter's Palettes out for Halloween this year. The Zombie Bride quad has a black, white, red and grey. The colors are not super intense, but it is affordable Halloween makeup, so we can’t be too picky. The grey and red are pretty pigmented, but there is a sheerness to the white and black shade. You cannot quite build up the white color to an opaque coverage, it will just rub off if you continually apply more layers. The black and white have a satin finish and the other two shades have a glossy finish. Mesmerizing Mermaid Glitter Palette * $3.99As I assumed, the glitter palette is mainly a transparent, oily cream with glitter pieces suspended in it. After removing the dry glitter overlay, you have to actually scoop out the product to even get the “intensity” that I have in my swatch photos. The gold, purple and pink are pretty chunky glitters and the silver and green have a bit more fine glitter. The exception to the palette is the bronze gold shade, which is more just like a shimmery cream shadow--it doesn’t really have any glitter. This obviously is not a go-to everyday kind of palette, but for a Halloween or just fun look, I think it could come in handy. Glow In The Dark False Lashes * $2.99Twilight False Lashes * $2.99Mysterious False Lashes * $2.99I had to pick up some false lashes from this collection, they were all so fun. The Twilight pair does shed glitter, as I expected, but since they would not be worn long, they would be fine on the eyes, but probably not a pair that you would use more than once. The Glow In The Dark and Twilight lashes have a pretty thin, flimsy band, which is typical of drugstore lashes. The Mysterious pair has a much more sturdy band. I had to trim all three pairs to fit my eyes, especially the Mysterious lashes! Obviously these lashes are not wearable, but they are Halloween lashes. I think they are so cool, and since they are so inexpensive, I think that it is fun to experiment with new colors and shapes.
XOX ♥ Price: $6.99 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 2.2 mL The Nyx White Liquid Liner is a bright white liquid liner with a matte finish. The White Liquid Liner comes in a long thin tube with a thin brush tip applicator. The liner applies pretty opaque, but could need a bit of building up in certain places to ensure an even line. It really looks like you are applying whiteout to the eyes, it is that bright. The product kind of flakes off when you remove it, and will also flake if you are rubbing your eyes, but other than that it lasts decently. This sounds a bit odd, but you can kind of feel the liner on your lids once it has dried. I have not experienced this with any other liquid liners, but it isn’t that bad. There really are pros and cons when it comes to this product. But, white liquid liner is probably not an everyday use kind of thing, so it should be fine on occasion. There isn’t a huge market for white liquid liners, so if you are looking for an affordable choice, the Nyx White Liquid Liner may be the one for you. XOX ♥
Price: $17 * Buy At: Sephora The Sephora Show Curl XL Lash Curler for Round Eyes is designed with a longer handle and a curved opening to better suit round eyes. No lash curler has ever fit my eyes, and I didn’t realize how bothersome this was until I tried this curler. This one reaches from the inner corner lashes to the outer corner, curling all of my lashes evenly. A traditional lash curler curls my lashes in the middle of my eye, but would only get the ends of my other lashes. I had never thought about spending $17 on a lash curler, but know that I have, I really appreciate the investment in a tool that I use everyday. It does have a nicer quality feel than the basic drugstore curlers I've had. Sephora makes this same lash curler for almond eyes, but if you have a similar eye shape to mine, I would definitely recommend this curler. You can see my eye shape in any of my eye makeup looks on the blog! XOX ♥
Price: $40 * Buy At: Anastasia's Website * Size: 6 x 0.15 oz The Anastasia Beverly Hills Moonchild Glow Kit is a palette of six unique highlighting powders. All the shades in the Moonchild Glow Kit have some kind of color shift. Blue Ice shifts blue, Pink Heart shifts pink, Star shifts a bit silver, Lucky Clover shifts mint, Purple Horseshoe shifts blue and Blue Moon shifts silver. The shades of the palette are not traditional highlights, but that does not make them unwearable. I use a lighter hand with these shades, but if applied more intensely, this palette would work well on dark skin, especially the two shades on the right side of the palette. The formula of each shade are consistent in pigmentation and texture. The powders are very smooth and soft--they just glide onto the skin. The colors are quite reflective, especially with the color changing shift. I am definitely a fan of Anastasia's Glow Kit, but this one is my favorite one yet! XOX ♥
