Price: $14 * Buy At: Sephora * Size: 0.169 oz The Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Night Bird is an intense black with a matte finish. Sephora’s Cream Lip Stains come in a relatively small tube in comparison to most liquid lipsticks (ColourPop and Kat Von D for example). They have a traditional doe foot applicator and the tube is clear to easily see the product color. Night Bird is super intense and opaque; if you’re wanting a bold black lip, look no further. If you are wearing a dark color like Night Bird, you really don’t want it to move, so a matte liquid lipstick like this one is a great choice. The Cream Lip Stains dry down to a matte finish, but there is the slightest bit of tackiness left over. This sounds like a bad thing, but I really like it and I think if you tested out any of the shades in store, you would see where I’m coming from. The slight tackiness the product has keeps it from sucking all the moisture out of your lips, making it more comfortable to wear. The product will come off slightly on a cup or a straw, but it’s not bad and it doesn’t affect how the color looks on the lips. XOX ♥

Price: $14 * Buy At: Sephora * Size: 5 ml / 0.169 fl oz The Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Dark Forest Is a cool toned green with a matte finish. Sephora’s Cream Lip Stains come in a relatively small tube in comparison to most liquid lipsticks (ColourPop and Kat Von D for example). They have a traditional doe foot applicator and the tube is clear to easily see the product color. If you are wearing a bold color like Dark Forest you really don’t want it to move, so a matte liquid lipstick like this one is a great choice. The Cream Lip Stains dry down to a matte finish, but there is the slightest bit of tackiness left over. This sounds like a negative, but I really like it and I think if you tested out any of the shades in store, you would see where I’m coming from. The slight tackiness the product has keeps it from sucking all the moisture out of your lips, making it more comfortable to wear. The product will come off slightly on a cup or a straw, but it’s not bad and it doesn’t affect how the color looks on the lips. I enjoy the formula of this liquid lipstick collection, and I would recommend checking them out in-store. There is a pretty wide variety of shades and within the collection they have a selection of bolder shades, like Dark Forest, which I am all about. XOX ♥
Price: $7.49 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 0.13 fl oz The Nyx Electromagnetic Cosmic Metals Lip Cream is a shimmery, metallic teal. See my review and swatches of the Cosmic Metals in Extraterrestrial, Dark Nebula and Galactic HERE. The Cosmic Metals come in the same packaging as Nyx’s Liquid Suede Lip Creams: a clear tube with a black, faceted lid and a long, flat applicator. Just like the three shades I originally purchased, Electromagnetic has great color payoff. The more product you apply, the less chrome it looks and the more shimmery it appears. The product is not uncomfortable on the lips, but tends to be a bit sticky, definitely more so than a typical liquid lipstick. The wear becomes more comfortable after a little while, and it does not leave behind any gritty pieces of glitter, which is a good thing. The Cosmic Metals are not the easiest to remove, they tend to leave behind a slight tint and some shimmer. I recommend using an oil (I like coconut oil) to remove the lip color, to avoid any unnecessary scrubbing. I love unique, bold lip colors, and I have been getting behind the metallic lip trend. Electromagnetic is definitely not going to be everyone's cup of tea or their go-to lip color on a daily basis, but I think it's a gorgeous shade. It also matches my eyes pretty well so I think that looks cool as an added bonus. XOX ♥
Price: $4.99 * Buy At: Walgreens * Size: 0.21 oz / 6 g The Wet n Wild Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick in Nudie Patootie is a light nude with a cool undertone. The Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipsticks come in a clear tube and have a spongy applicator. The applicator has a divot in the middle, it is interesting and I haven’t seen another liquid lipstick with a similar applicator. I actually really like it however, it prevents too much product building up along the lip line. The product is thin and glides on easily to the lips. It is easy to get the color completely opaque on the lips and it dries down quickly. Naturally, being a matte liquid lipstick, the Liquid Catsuit formula is drying on the lips, but it is not as drying as the ColourPop Ultra Matte Lips. I really love the color of Nudie Patootie, it is my kind of nude. I think the formula is great, and with a $5 price tag, how can you go wrong? XOX ♥
Price: $6.99 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 4 mL The Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Foul Mouth is a muted navy with a demi matte finish. The Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks come in a colored plastic tube and have a long, slanted wand. Foul Mouth has intense pigmentation and applies opaquely onto the lips. Foul Mouth is similar to a typical matte liquid lipstick in the sense that the color won’t move on the lips, but it feels much more comfortable on the lips. Foul Mouth doesn’t dry down to a complete matte, but it gets pretty close to it. As you wear it, the product can get a bit uncomfortable, but it is easy to re-apply over the remaining color. I love the color and I think it is so unique--it is a pretty wearable version of a blue lip, so if you want to try the trend, this may be the way to go. XOX ♥
Price: $6 * Buy At: ColourPop Website * Size: 3.2 g The ColourPop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Jellies is a muted dark royal blue with a matte finish. The Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks come in a long clear tube and have a typical doe foot applicator. Jellies has a thin formula that applies opaquely onto the lips. As you can probably imagine, the formula does feel drying on the lips, but it does tend to feel more comfortable as wear goes on. The product will have a very good wear time, as long as you don’t rub your lips together or eat oily or greasy foods, as it will break down the color. Jellies is definitely not a color for everyone, but if you are familiar with my preferred lip colors, you would know that I love bold, edgy colors like Jellies. Blue lip colors are having a bit of a trend at the moment, and Jellies is a very affordable way to try out the trend. To add some comfort on top, I will sometimes use the Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Moscow which is a navy blue. This will give you the lasting power of Jellies, but with more moisture on the lips. Price: $2.99 * Buy At: Kmart * Size: 0.11 oz / 3 g The Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color in Mango Sorbet is a bright red-orange liquid lip color with a natural matte finish. The Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Colors come in a clear tube with a classic doe foot applicator. The product has a subtle vanilla scent, but it is not sickly sweet or overpowering. I find the formula to be a mix between the Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams and a matte liquid lipstick. It has a moussy texture, but it sets more on the lips than the Nyx Lip Creams. Mango Sorbet is intensely pigmented and applies super smooth and evenly to the lips. Since it doesn’t dry down completely like a matte liquid lipstick, it doesn’t appear or feel drying on the lips, giving the lips a smooth appearance, not the “desert mouth” that some super matte lip colors tend to give. Mango Sorbet is an intense, vibrant color and the formula works well with it. I would only use a matte liquid lipstick for a bright lip color. Mango Sorbet doesn't have quite the wear time as the ColourPop Ultra Matte Lips, but it does stay on the lips better than a lipstick. XOX ♥
Price: $6.99 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 4 mL The Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Brooklyn Thorn is a dark grey mauve with a demi matte finish. The Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks come in a colored plastic tube and have a long, slanted wand. Brooklyn Thorn applies opaquely to the lips thanks to its highly pigmented formula. Once applied, the product will not move around on the lips, but it does not dry completely matte, which makes it more comfortable than a traditional matte liquid lipstick. On the lips, the product is not sticky whatsoever and has a slightly moisturizing aspect. Brooklyn Thorn can get a bit uncomfortable throughout the day, but it reapplies easily on top of the existing color without crumbling or appearing uneven. The wear time is between a typical lipstick and a matte liquid lipstick, so it is best to keep the product on you for touch-ups. I love grey toned lip colors, and Brooklyn Thorn could be a more easy-to-wear shade if you are interested that kind of color. XOX ♥
Price: $7.49 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 0.13 fl oz The Nyx Cosmic Metals Lip Creams are shimmery, metallic lip colors that come in a variety of unique shades. I picked up the shades Dark Nebula, Extraterrestrial & Galactic. The Cosmic Metals come in the same packaging as Nyx’s Liquid Suede Lip Creams: a clear tube with a black “jewel” lid and a long, flat applicator. All the shades have very good pigmentation (I only purchased three, but I did test all the shades at Ulta). The more product you apply, the less chrome it looks and the more shimmery it appears. The product is not uncomfortable on the lips, but tends to be a bit sticky. The wear becomes more comfortable after a little while, and it does not leave behind any gritty pieces of glitter. These do not make a grey, blue or green lip more wearable, but I think they are gorgeous worn alone, or on top of a lipstick or lip liner. XOX ♥
Price: $7 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 0.13 oz The Nyx Embellishment Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick is a medium dusty purple with a matte finish. The Nyx Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick comes in a long, clear tube and has a flat applicator. The formula of the Lingerie Lip Lingerie is quite interesting, and different from a typical matte liquid lipstick. It doesn’t go on opaque like a paint, but it quickly builds up to a full coverage on the lips. Personally, I find the texture to be a cross between Nyx’s Soft Matte Lip Cream and a typical matte liquid lipstick, like one from ColourPop. The product feels a bit uncomfortable on the lips following application, but after a bit, the wear is quite comfortable. Embellishment lasts on the lips like other liquid lipsticks, and needs some kind of oil to remove (I like using coconut oil). XOX ♥
