Price: $14 * Buy At: Sephora * Size: 0.169 oz The Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Night Bird is an intense black with a matte finish. Sephora’s Cream Lip Stains come in a relatively small tube in comparison to most liquid lipsticks (ColourPop and Kat Von D for example). They have a traditional doe foot applicator and the tube is clear to easily see the product color. Night Bird is super intense and opaque; if you’re wanting a bold black lip, look no further. If you are wearing a dark color like Night Bird, you really don’t want it to move, so a matte liquid lipstick like this one is a great choice. The Cream Lip Stains dry down to a matte finish, but there is the slightest bit of tackiness left over. This sounds like a bad thing, but I really like it and I think if you tested out any of the shades in store, you would see where I’m coming from. The slight tackiness the product has keeps it from sucking all the moisture out of your lips, making it more comfortable to wear. The product will come off slightly on a cup or a straw, but it’s not bad and it doesn’t affect how the color looks on the lips. XOX ♥

Price: $17 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 0.11 oz The Urban Decay UV Vice Lipstick is a luminescent pastel violet with blue shift. UV is part of the collection of lipsticks that Urban Decay re-released as a throwback to 1994. I know that it is a throwback, but I find the packaging of this line of Vice lipsticks to be very boring. I don’t like how the lid covers the whole tube, either, it makes it more difficult to remove in my opinion. I thought the box the lipstick came in was actually much more attractive! So yes, I do not like UV’s packaging, but I absolutely love the formula and color. "Unwearable" lip colors are pretty much the only colors I like to wear, so how could I not like UV? UV has a satin finish and is almost a bit metallic, but there are not particles of shimmer in the lipstick. The lipstick glides onto the lips and only needed a bit of building up to achieve full coverage, although wearing this color sheer is also gorgeous. UV feels pretty comfortable and moisturizing on the lips and has an average wear time of a couple hours or so. XOX ♥
Price: $5 * Buy At: ColourPop Website * Size: 1g The ColourPop Lippie Stix in Wet is a taupe with a pearlized finish. The Lippie Stix have a long white tube with the product inside being smaller than a traditional lipstick. I have smaller lips, so I quite like this feature. The product has a nice vanilla scent, but it is not overwhelming. Wet is a really unique color; I haven’t seen any color like it. Metallic lips are becoming a trend, and Wet could be an alternative to a metallic liquid lipstick, if it is not your thing. Being a part of the Lippie Stix line, Wet is comfortable to wear on the lips, but doesn’t have the most longwearing formula. All in all, I really like this product and love how unique the shade is! Price: $17 * Buy At: MAC * Size: 0.1 oz / 3 g The MAC Lipstick in On and On is a sheer red brown with blue duochrome glitter. The shade is very similar to the infamous blue-brown shifting pigment or eyeshadow that many brands have. On and On has the classic black bullet MAC packaging. The glitter gives the product a girtty texture, but it is surprisingly comfortable on the lips. Due to the duochrome shift in the lipstick, the swatches and lip photos really do not do the color justice. I would really recommend going into a MAC or to a MAC counter and testing this shade out. On and On is such a cool, unique color and I just absolutely love it. It is bold and interesting, but the red brown base color keeps it wearable. XOX ♥
Price: $6 * Buy At: ColourPop Website * Size: 3.2 g The ColourPop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Zipper is a dark purple liquid lipstick with a matte finish. The ColourPop Ultra Matte Lips come in a clear tube with a classic doe foot applicator. Zipper’s formula is a bit more patchy than other shades of the Ultra Matte Lips that I have tried. It wasn’t bad, or even all that noticeable, but it definitely did not apply as opaque as other colors. Zipper still feels thin and light on the lips, but like most matte liquid lipsticks, Zipper does have a dry feeling. For the most part, you won't notice the dryness unless you press your lips together. Zipper has good lasting power, as long as you don't rub your lips together, as it will cause the product to flake off. XOX ♥
Price: $20 * Buy At: Sephora * Size: 6.6 mL The Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Requiem is a medium grey toned lavender with a matte finish. The Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks come in long, thin tubes with a cute tattoo design. They come with a typical doe foot applicator. Requiem has intense color payoff, not needing to be built up on the lips for an opaque look. It dries to a very matte finish, fairly quickly, and feels pretty comfortable on the lips. Any matte liquid lipstick is going to feel at least a bit dry on the lips, but Requiem is pretty comfortable as far as matte liquid lipsticks go. I personally love purple lip colors, so Requiem is right up my alley, and could maybe be a gateway into purple lips for the nude lips lover. XOX ♥
Price: $2.99 * Buy At: Walgreens * Size: 0.22 oz Metallic lip colors are the newest trend in lips, so more and more brands are releasing their take on the trend. I picked up three shades of the Wet n Wild Coloricon Metallic Liquid Lipstick: My Tulips Are Sealed, Indigo Your Own Way & Peony Express. The Coloricon Metallic Liquid Lipsticks come in a clear tube and have a doe foot applicator that sort of dips in the center. The product is quite thin and glides easily onto the lips. Although it is a liquid lipstick, they do not set in place. However, if you blot your lips--or even attempt to rub the color off--you will be left with the metallic finish and a more subtle version of the color. The colors do not look very metallic when swatched on my arm, but you can really see the finish in the lip swatches. These three colors are not the type of shades I typically go for, but this collection of lipsticks was fairly small, so I picked my favorite of the bunch. XOX ♥
Price: $5.49 * Buy At: Target * Size: 0.15 oz The Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Sapphire Siren is a dark blue-toned purple. Sapphire Siren is a part of Maybelline’s newest “The Loaded Bolds” collection. All shades in the Loaded Bolds collection have the traditional rectangle packaging, but with a navy lid. Just like Maybelline’s other lipsticks, Sapphire Siren has a play-doh scent that I do not really care for. Despite not liking the scent, I do like everything else about the lipstick. Sapphire Siren has a creamy formula that doesn’t move around and is comfortable on the lips. Sapphire Siren is quite pigmented and gives the lips full coverage color. XOX ♥
Price: $6 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 0.16 oz The Nyx Matte Lipstick in Haze is a warm toned grey with a natural matte finish. Haze is one of Nyx’s newest releases from their Matte Lipstick line. The Nyx Matte Lipsticks come in a matte black tube with a clear middle, that lets the product’s color peek through. While Haze looks pretty grey, it is noticeably warmer in tone to the other grey in Nyx’s Matte Lipstick line: Ultra Dare. These lipsticks are some of my favorite matte lip products; they have a smooth formula that feels comfortable on the lips, despite the matte finish. Because it is in a typical lipstick format, it will transfer, unlike the popular matte liquid lipsticks, but, this makes the wear much more comfortable and makes application easier. If you are wanting to try out this edgier lip color, I would recommend purchasing either Haze or Ultra Dare, depending on your color preferences. XOX ♥
Price: $5.49 * Buy At: Target * Size: 0.15 oz The Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Gone Greige is a grey toned mauve. Gone Greige is a part of Maybelline’s newest “The Loaded Bolds” collection. All shades in the Loaded Bolds collection have the traditional rectangle packaging, but with a navy lid. Just like Maybelline’s other lipsticks, Gone Greige has a play-doh scent that I do not really care for. Gone Greige has a smooth, creamy formula that isn’t too ‘slippery’. The lipstick is pretty comfortable on the lips, but does get a bit drying as time goes on. I would recommend this shade to people wanting to try out the grey-ish lip color trend, but don't want to go too bold. I am quite a fan of grey toned (and even just straight up grey) lip colors, so this shade is super wearable to me. I consider Gone Greige to be more of a mauve than a greige, but it is a pretty color either way. XOX ♥
