The Tarte Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara claims to give lashes "2700% volume" according to their website. The mascara comes in a black tube with a cute gold lid with a black splatter pattern. The wand on the mascara is a fairly simple spiky rubber brush. It reminds me of the Benefit They’re Real Mascara, but not quite as spiky. The mascara’s formula is not too wet, which is a positive thing to me, since my lashes work best with a drier formulation. The mascara gives me a good amount of thickness, length and volume (not quite 2700% more...). It doesn't really stand out in any of the categories--while I do like the product and the results it gives me, I'm not sure if it is worth the high end price tag. However, if high end mascaras are your thing, I would give this one a try.

The Essence Lash Princess Volume Mascara claims to give dramatic volume with an innovative cobra brush for extremely thick lashes.
The Essence Lash Princess Mascara comes in a super cute tube. The wand is "cobra" shaped, so one side is curved and the other side is fairly straight. The results I got using this mascara weren't bad, but I found that the brush made application a bit difficult. I didn't find the mascara to do much for length, and I have fairly long lashes to begin with. I do, however, like the thickness that this mascara gives to the lashes. I do not dislike the mascara, but it is not one of my favorites.

The Wet N Wild Mega Volume Mascara comes in a bright yellow tube and has an average sized wand with natural bristles.
The Mega Volume Mascara has a thinner formula, giving the lashes a more natural look. Because of this, the mascara does not provide much added thickness to the lashes, just length and volume. I don't find this mascara to clump, which can make it a great first coat mascara. While it typically is not a problem for me, I have not found this mascara to smudge or flake throughout the day. This previously had been one of my favorite mascaras, but they repackaged it and it is not quite the same any more. On my lashes is two coats of Wet n Wild Mega Volume.

The Nyx The Skinny Mascara is a classic black mascara with a very thin applicator.
The package claims that the mascara is "perfected to coat every lash from root to tip! The micro-sized brush is ideal for enhancing the appearance of a fuller lash line." It also claims that is is smudge and flake resistant, reaches the tightest lashes, works great with your favorites mascara and is water resistant. The Skinny Mascara has a very, very thin brush and the bristles do not stick off of the wand very much. With such a small applicator, not a lot of product comes off on the lashes. This does make application take longer, but it also prevents clumps. The mascara gave okay results on the top lashes, but I bought it specifically for the bottom lashes since it has such a small applicator. The mascara doesn't give much thickness to the lashes, but it does separate and lengthen the lashes. I like to use this mascara as a first coat on my bottom lashes and follow up with a more thickening mascara like Jordana Best Lash Extreme. I didn't find the mascara to smudge on my lower lashline or flake off throughout the day. Overall I'm not in love with the product, but I also don't dislike it. I used three coats of The Skinny Mascara on my top and bottom lashes in the photos.

The Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara is a black mascara with a long wand with natural bristles. The formula is sort of a midpoint between a dry mascara and a wet mascara, which is what I tend to like on my lashes. The mascara did a great job separating the lashes and I don't find that it is likely to clump. When built up, the Best Lash Extreme Mascara can add decent thickness as well as volume, but not a ton of length. My lashes aren't particularly stubborn, but I found this mascara to hold a curl pretty well and it didn't weight down my lashes at all. I used three coats on my top lashes and two coats on my bottom lashes in the pictures.

The Maybelline the Colossal Volum' Express Cat Eyes Mascara comes in a yellow tube with orange writing and leopard print on the lid. The wand is curved and pretty thin and the bristles are short. I prefer fatter wands, but I know that not everyone does. I found that this mascara did give my lashes some length, but it didn't thicken or separate them at all. It made my lashes look quite spidery, as you can probably tell in the photos. I've tried using this mascara many times, but I never end up liking the results. However, my sister really likes this mascara, so it's really a personal opinion.

The Urban Decay Perversion Mascara is the newest mascara from Urban Decay and is described as being bigger, blacker and badder. I have a sample size of the mascara, but the full size tube looks the same.
The Perversion Mascara comes in a black tube with purple writing. It has a fairly large, natural bristle wand that is quite dense. Right as I started putting on this mascara, I knew that I liked it. It is super easy to apply, it goes through the lashes effortlessly and doesn't clump at all. This mascara also gave me some intense length. It can look a bit spidery, but I still really like the results. It doesn't add much thickness to the lashes, so Perversion would be a great choice to layer with a thickening mascara. I used two coats of Perversion on my top and bottom lashes in the picture.

This year the CK One Mascara is the free birthday gift for all Ulta members. Ulta will send you the coupon during your birthday month and you can go to an Ulta store to pick up your free mascara!
The CK One Mascara comes in a long matte black tube with a white lid. The wand on this mascara is quite interesting because it can be in two different shapes. As explained on the sticker on the lid, you can twist the top to change the wand's shape. Before twisting the top, the wand is longer and the bristles are further apart from each other. After twisting the top, the bristles twist and shrink closer together. I actually do notice a difference on my lashes with the two different wands, although it's a little harder to see in the photos. The un-twisted wand gives my lashes a bit more of a natural look, while the twisted wand makes the lashes thicker (and sometimes kind of spidery). In the pictures of the mascara on my lashes, the un-twisted wand was used on the left eye and the twisted wand was used on the right eye. The mascara doesn't leave the lashes feeling dry or crunchy and does not flake.
Sephora Birthday Gift 2014 | Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant Mascara & Rouge Artist Natural Lipstick
This year's free birthday gift from Sephora's Beauty Insiders program is from Makeup Forever. The gift includes deluxe sizes of the Smoky Extravagant Mascara and the Rouge Artist Natural Lipstick in N9.
The Makeup Forever Smoky Extravagant Mascara has a large natural bristle wand in a cone shape. The wand of this mascara is huge! It is almost the exact size of my eye, which makes applying the mascara quite difficult. The tip of the wand also tends to clump the lashes together, so I would suggest wiping off the tip each time before application. As for the results, the mascara makes my lashes look okay. It doesn't do anything crazy for length or volume, and it frequently leaves my lashes stuck together. The photos show two coats of the mascara on my top and bottom lashes.
The Make Up Forever Rouge Artist Natural Lipstick in N9 is a darker, neutral red color with a creme finish. This lipstick doesn't give off an opaque color, which is fine with me given the nature of the lipstick's color.

The L'Oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara comes in a long grey tube that resembles the shape of a telescope, which I think is really cute! The waterproof formula has blue writing on the tube, and the non-waterproof formula has red writing.
The Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara has a long, thin wand. The wand is also slightly pinched in the middle, which I don't think makes a difference to the lashes. To me, he formula is more on the dry side, and it dries quickly on the lashes. The mascara applied nicely and did not clump my lashes together. The first coat of the Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara added quite a bit of length to my lashes and the thickness and volume came as I built up the mascara. This mascara held up really well against water, the first time I wore it, I slammed my finger in my car door which caused quite a bit of crying and the mascara didn't budge. If you rub your lashes while they are wet, some of the mascara will flake off, but it doesn't smear or run at all. This mascara is also on the more difficult side of removal.
