This year's free birthday gift for Sephora Beauty Insiders & VIB's is two deluxe sized lip pencils from Nars. The set consists of a Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien a Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella. Rikugien is a sheer natural lip color with a bit of shimmer, and Cruella is a medium-dark matte red. Rikugien has a balmy formula, but is slighty uncomfortable on the lips due to the shimmer. I thought I would like the color of Rikugien, but it's so close to my natural lip color that all it does is add a balmy finish and a bit of glitter, which I'm not a huge fan of. However, I do quite like Cruella. Despite its matte finish, it has a thin and lightly moisturizing formula. Cruella is very intensely pigmented and I love the color, although I probably will not wear it until the fall and winter months. Overall, I think its a cute little set and it is free, so how can I complain? XOX ♥

Price: $3.49 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 0.03 oz The Nyx Slim Lip Pencil in Pure Red is a classic red lip liner with a matte finish. The Slim Lip Pencils are wooden lip pencils that you sharpen. I know many people like mechanical style lip liners, but the wooden ones are still my favorite. Pure Red is very pigmented and works great as a base for any type of red lip product. The Slim Lip Pencils have a dry feeling on the lips when worn alone, so I personally wouldn't wear Pure Red by itself, but you could if you wanted to. The texture of the product is fairly hard and dry, but that helps it to get a much nicer, cleaner line than a pencil with a soft texture. XOX ♥
Price: $24 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 22.4 g The Lorac Alter Ego Heart Breaker Eye Shadow Palette is a ten shadow palette that is a part of Lorac's summer collection for 2015. The Palette comes in a small neon pink package that is just so cute. I am quite a fan of these smaller palettes that Lorac makes because they are very easy to travel with, but still contain plenty of colors. The Heart Breaker Palette is split half and half with warm and cool shades. The color selection may be a bit difficult to create full looks out of, since there are not many mattes, but for someone like me that has a ton of palettes, it is a great way of adding to your shadow collection. These palettes don't have the soft and buttery texture of the Pro Palettes, but the formula is great nonetheless. All ten shadows in this palette have amazing pigmentation and just glide on to the eyes. I honestly do not find any of the shadows in the palette to be duds. Even the dark blue shadow has the same intense pigmentation and smooth formula as the more neutral colors. I did not have to build up any of the shades in the swatch pictures. XOX ♥
Price: $5.49 * Buy At: Target * Size: 4.2 g / 0.15 oz The Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Bubblegum Bloom is a semi sheer pale pink with a bit of shimmer. The Color Sensational Lipsticks come in a classic lipstick tube with a long, rectangular lid. Due to the slight shimmer in the lipstick, it does feel a little bit gritty on the lips, but it is not bad. It does make the formula not quite as moisturizing as other shades from the Color Sensational line. Bubblegum Bloom is a bit on the sheer side, but it can really lighten up the lips if you have naturally pigmented lips like I do. I know colors like this aren't for everyone, but I quite like pale lip colors on my fair skin tone. XOX ♥
I currently own 10 shades: Pale Pink, Nude, Hippie Chic, Daydream, Sierra, Indie Flick, Euro Trash, Natural, Audrey & Sweet Pink. XOX ♥
How To | Step by StepI began this look by priming my eye area with the Nyx Dark Circle Concealer and setting it with a translucent powder. For the transition color, I used a matte beige, Natural from KOCO (by Beauty Brands). Using a Sigma E25 brush, I applied Brown Script by MAC all over my crease, building it up gradually. To further darken up the crease, I switched to the Zoeva Luxe Petit Crease brush, using the same MAC shadow. I followed up with the same MAC shadow on the lower lashline. I used the Coastal Scents Brow brush to apply the red brown color right below my waterline. For my browbone and inner corner highlight, I used Milani Bella Ivory Bella Eyes Gel Powder Shadow. On the lids, I used one of my favorite eye shadows, L'Oreal Iced Latte Infallible Shadow. Since this shadow is really soft, I used my fingers to apply two layers of the shadow. Instead of a typical brown or black liner, I used a shimmery dark purple, which is really unlike me. The liner I used is the Tarte Skinny SmolderEYES Liner in Purple Garnet. In the waterline, I used the Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter which is just an ivory liner. To finish the look, I curled my lashes and applied mascara. On my top lashes I used the Jordana Best Lash Extreme and Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes. On the bottom I used the Nyx Skinny Mascara and the Jordana one.
XOX ♥ Price: $5.00 * Buy At: Sephora The Sephora Nano Liner in Pure White is a creamy white pencil liner with a semi matte finish. The Nano Liners are classic pencil liners that you have to sharpen. While Pure White does have opaque pigmentation, it is a bit of a softer white color, so it doesn't look overly intense. I use Pure White a ton as a base for my inner eye highlight, and almost daily in my waterline. The product does fade throughout the day when applied to my waterline, but it lasts all day without smudging if applied to the skin. I have been using this as my white eyeliner of choice for about four years now, and it is still one of my favorite products. XOX ♥
Price: $3.49 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 1.05 g / 0.04 oz The Nyx Slim Lip Pencil in Bloom is a warm magenta lip liner with a matte finish. XOX ♥
How To | Step by StepTo start off this look, I primed my eyes with the Lorac Behind The Scenes eye primer. As the transition color in the crease, I used Naked 2 from the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette on a Sigma E25 brush. As a base color on my lids and my lashline, I used the Tarte SmolderEYES Liner in Taupe. I just applied it straight from the the pencil to my eyes. All over the lid, I applied Toasted from the Urban Decay Naked Palette. I also put Toasted on the lower lashline where I had previously applied the base. To deepen up the outer corners, I used Faint, a darker brown. To highlight the inner corners I used Foxy from the Naked Basics Palette. On the waterline, I used the Tarte Skinny SmolderEYES liner in Purple Garnet. I winged out my liner using the Inglot Liner Gel in 77 and of course curled and applied mascara to my eye lashes.
XOX ♥ The Zoeva Complete Eye Set contains twelve eye brushes and a small black bag. In case you are not familiar with Zoeva, it is a German company that specializes in makeup brushes. The prices are somewhat similar to Sigma, but Zoeva is more affordable which sort of makes up for the ridiculous shipping price I had to pay. If I put all the pictures of all twelve brushes in this one post, it would be ginormous, so I am splitting my review of the Complete Eye Set into three parts, this one of course is the first part. You can find my reviews of the other brushes by clicking on the links at the top of this post! Detail Shader BrushThe Zoeva 237 Detail Shader Brush is a small rounded shadow brush. The bristles pick up a lot of product, allowing you to create an intense inner corner highlight, which is something that I often do. The brush isn't the softest, but it gets the job done and doesn't irritate my eyes. I haven't had issues with the bristles shedding or splaying. Smudger BrushThe Zoeva 226 Smudger Brush is a short and dense shadow brush. You could use this brush for soft liner on the lids, or for a brow highlight shade, but I really enjoy using this brush for applying shadow to the lower lashline. The dense bristles really pack on the color, but do not irritate my eyes whatsoever. So far, none of the bristles have shed or splayed from the brush. Luxe Petit Crease BrushThe Zoeva 231 Luxe Petit Crease Brush is a fluffy pointed brush. As the name would suggest, this brush works great for precisely deepening up the crease. However, my favorite way to use this brush is as a pencil brush. It is small enough for working on the lower lashline, and since it's fluffy, it doesn't irritate the eyes. Like the other brushes in the set, this one is great quality and has yet to shed or splay. Luxe Crease BrushThe Zoeva 228 Luxe Crease Brush is a big fluffy brush that comes to a point. I absolutely love this brush for applying a transition shade to the crease. The brush packs on a decent amount of shadow, and since it is fluffy, it also easily blends out the color. This is another one of my favorites from the Complete Eye Set. No shedding or splaying of the bristles has occurred with this brush. XOX ♥
