How To | Step by StepAfter priming my lids with the Lorac Behind The Scenes Primer, I used the Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush to apply Makeup Geek Peach Smoothie as my transition color. The color didn't show up too much in the finished look, but it did really help me blend my other crease color. In the crease and on the outer corner of my lids, I used Cool Grey from the Lorac Pro Palette 2. To apply it in the crease, I used the Zoeva Luxe Defined Crease Brush. As always, I blended out the crease with the Sigma E40. On the inner half of my lids, I packed on the Inglot Shadow in #470, which is a bright pastel peach. To blend the peach and the cool grey shades, I used Nectar, which is also from the Pro Palette 2. For the lashline, I used the same shadows from the lids. On a Sephora flat liner brush, I applied Cool Grey right below the waterline. To blend out the shadow, I used Nectar on a Sigma E47. I strayed from my typical white or ivory highlight and tried out a beige instead. With the Zoeva Detail Brush, I applied Buff from the Lorac Pro Palette 2 right in the inner corners. For a bit of a pop of color, I applied a bit of yellow on the inner half of the lashline, but this of course is optional. The yellow I used is from the Sleek Ultra Mattes V1 Brights iDivine Palette. To finish off the eye look, I applied the Maybelline the Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara and the Jordana Best Lash Extreme Mascara to the top and bottom eye lashes.

Price: $6 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 4.5 g The Nyx Matte Lipstick in Sweet Pink is a medium-dark cool toned pink with a matte finish. The Nyx Matte Lipsticks come in a matte tube with a clear middle that allows you to see the color inside. The Nyx Matte Lipsticks have a very smooth, thin formula that feels decently moisturizing on the lips. I find them to be one of the most comfortable matte lip products to wear. After a couple of hours, Sweet Pink will begin to feel drying, as most lipsticks do, but it is easy to fix with some lip balm or with reapplying the color. Sweet Pink is very pigmented and does not need any building up to give the lips an opaque look. XOX ♥
Price: €60 * Buy At: Zoeva's Website The Zoeva Complete Eye Set contains twelve eye brushes and a small black bG. In case you are not familiar with Zoeva, it is a German company that specializes in makeup brushes. The prices are somewhat similar to Sigma, but Zoeva is more affordable which sort of makes up for the ridiculous shipping price I had to pay. If I put all the pictures of all twelve brushes in this one post, it would be ginormous, so I am splitting my review of the Complete Eye Set into three parts, this one of course is the first part. You can find my reviews of the other brushes by clicking on the links at the top of this post! 230 Luxe Pencil BrushThe Zoeva 239 Luxe Pencil Brush is a short and dense brush that comes to a point. Most people like to use pencil brushes to apply color to the lower lashline, but I think the brush is a bit too dense for that. It's not that the brush isn't soft, but since it is so short and dense, it feels a bit uncomfortable on the lower lashline. Given the density and shape of this brush, it could also be used to apply highlight in the inner corners. No bristles have shed or splayed on this brush so far. 322 Brow Line BrushThe Zoeva 322 Brow Line Brush is a short angled brush. The bristles are very dense, which allows you to really get a clean application of brow color. The brush is a bit thicker than your typical eyeliner brush, but still thin enough to work with most people's brow size and shape. I like using this brush with the Anastasia DipBrow Pomeade, but it would also work great with a powder brow color. So far, none of the bristles have splayed or shed from this brush. 317 Wing Liner BrushThe Zoeva 317 Wing Liner Brush is a thin angled eyeliner brush. The bristles are cut at a pretty sharp angle, and while it isn't all that apparent in the pictures, it is much more angled than my other angled liner brushes. The angle of the brush makes lining the lid a bit more difficult, but as the name suggests, it works great for winging out liner. I like to use this brush with gel liner, but you could always apply a dark eye shadow with it as well. None of the bristles from this brush have splayed or shed so far. 224 Luxe Defined Crease BrushThe 224 Luxe Defined Crease Brush is a long, thin crease brush that isn't very dense. This is one of my favorite brushes in the set, and I love using it to apply shadow right in the crease. You could also use this brush for blending out the lower lash line, intensifying the crease transition shade, or even lightly highlighting the brow bone. A couple of bristles have splayed on this brush after using it, but it doesn't affect the brush's function. XOX ♥
Price: €60 * Buy At: Zoeva's Website The Zoeva Complete Eye Set contains twelve eye brushes and a small black case. The Complete Eye Set brushes are made of both synthetic and natural bristles, but the brush description does not specify which are which. The following descriptions come from the Zoeva website: "224 Luxe Defined Crease: Create smooth eye shadow transitions, 226 Smudger: Smudge eye shadow and kohl along the lashline, 227 Soft Definer: Softly blend and smooth eye shadow, 228 Crease: Blending and shading eye shadow in the crease, 230 Pencil: Precise shading and smoothing edges, 231 Petit Crease: Accentuating and blending in the crease, 234 Smoky Shader: Shading and blending with smoky effect, 237 Detail Shader: Detailed application of eye shadow, 315 Fine Liner: Apply eyeliner in delicate strokes, 317 Wing Liner: Detailed eyeliner strokes and a perfect wing, 322 Brow Line: Eyebrow brush for powder and cream products, 142 Concealer Buffer: Apply and blend concealer." 227 Luxe Soft Definer BrushThe 227 Luxe Soft Definer Brush is a flat, but fluffy brush that can be used in many different places on the eyes. It is similar to the very popular Sigma E25 brush, but there are noticeable differences. The Soft Definer Brush has longer, denser bristles than the E25, but the shape and function is quite similar. You could use this brush for applying brow bone highlight, lid color and crease color, but I prefer using it in the crease. 142 Concealer Buffer BrushThe 142 Concealer Buffer Brush is a large, dense dome shaped brush. I use this brush quite often to blend out the concealer that I sometimes use to prime my eyes. Despite the brush being pretty dense, it doesn't feel irritating on the skin and I don't find it to pull on my eye lids too much. Although this brush was included in the eye brush set, I can't really think of anyway to use it with eye shadow. 315 Fine Liner BrushThe 315 Fine Liner Brush is a thin and pointed liner brush with a bend in the ferrule. The brush is quite fine, so it has quickly become my go to brush for applying gel eye liner. Luckily, I have not experienced any of the bristles splaying, so the brush continues to work great for applying a clean and sharp line. The Fine Liner Brush isn't flimsy, but it also isn't too firm so it gives a little bit when in use. 234 Luxe Smoky Shader BrushThe 234 Luxe Smoky Shader brush is a classic shadow shading brush with a rounded tip. The brush is made of dense, silky bristles that are perfect for packing color onto the lids. I don't particularly find it to work better than any other shading brush that I own, but it gets the job done. XOX ♥
The Nyx Slim Lip Pencils are classic wooden lip liners. They tend to have a slightly dry formula which helps the color to last longer on the lips. I don't experience a problem with the product skipping across the lips and they don't typically need to be built up since they are quite pigmented. The eight shades I have are Nude Beige, Rose Brown, Pale Pink, Nude Pink, Peekaboo Neutral, Bloom, Plum and Dolly Pink. I have separately reviewed and swatched most of the colors, so for more pictures, you can find my reviews on the Makeup Product Finder page! All the shades I own are pretty different from one another, but Nude Pink and Peekaboo Neutral are fairly close in color, so you probably do not need both of them. XOX ♥
How To | Step by StepTo prime my lids, I used the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer to make my natural lid color even. Once it had set, I used the light pinkish brown from the IT Cosmetics My Sculpted Face Palette in the crease with a Zoeva Luxe Crease Brush. In the crease, I used the Zoeva Luxe Detailed Crease Brush and Espresso from the Smashbox Double Exposure Palette. On the lid, I used a mix of Navy from the Lorac Pro 2 Palette and Midnight from the Smashbox Double Exposure Palette. I lined the outer half of my eyes with the Inglot Liner Gel in 77 and winged it out. To apply the liner I used the Zoeva Fine Liner Brush. In the waterline I used the Tarte Skinny SmolderEYES liner in Purple Garnet, which looks pretty close to brown. I went back in with Midnight from the Smashbox Palette right under the waterline to smoke it out a bit. After curling my eye lashes, I used the Jordana Best Lash Extreme and the Maybelline the Colossal Cat Eyes mascara to finish off the look.
XOX ♥ Price: $6 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 2.5 g The Nyx High Voltage Lipstick in Free Spirit is a bright classic orange with a balmy finish. The Nyx High Voltage Lipsticks come in a thin black tube with a clear lid. They have a pretty thin and lightweight formula that feels quite comfortable on the lips. This line of lipsticks has a sort of balmy, slippery feel so I would suggest wearing them in combination with a lip liner for bright colors like Free Spirit. Despite the balmy feel, Free Spirit is very pigmented and gives a pretty opaque look. Although they don't claim to be, these lipsticks are not long wearing. I get only about two to three hours of wear from Free Spirit before needing to reapply. This doesn't bother me all that much, however, because the formula is so comfortable to wear. XOX ♥
How To | Step by StepTo prime my lids for the rust shade, I used a bit of the Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk to provide a light base. On a Sigma E25 I used Naked from the Urban Decay Naked Palette all over my crease for a transition shade. I didn't darken up the crease much for this look, but I went in with Buck from the Naked Palette right in the crease. To highlight my inner corners, I used a bit of Inglot #318 on a detail brush. For the lid color of this look, I used the Nyx Loose Pearl Eye Shadow in Rust and packed it all over the lids with a small shadow brush. You can make the pigment look more intense and metallic, but I wanted to keep it a little bit more subtle. In the waterline I used a brown pencil liner and I also added Buck right below the waterline with a flat liner brush. To smoke out the lashline I used Naked on a pencil brush. I used the Essence Super Fine Liner Pen to line both of my eyes, almost the entire way in. I curled my lashes and applied the Jordana Best Lash Extreme, as well as the Maybelline the Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara.
XOX ♥ Price: $24 * Buy At: Ulta The IT Cosmetics Airbrush Buffing Foundation Brush is a short, dense flat top brush. It has a thick silver handle that is an average length. The brush hairs are quite dense which works best if you are looking for a quite flawless and full coverage look to your foundation. The bristles are extremely soft and feel really nice on the skin. I find this brush to be very similar to the Coastal Scents Flat Buffer Brush, except this brush's bristles are shorter and more dense. Since this brush is so dense, it can be a bit difficult to use around the nose, but it still works. I have used this brush with liquid, mousse and powder foundations and it works equally well for all of them. The brush is very nice quality and I haven't had any issues with the bristles splaying or shedding with use.
Price: $6 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 0.16 oz The Nyx Matte Lipstick in Indie Flick is a bright warm tomato red with a matte finish. The Nyx Matte Lipsticks come in a matte black tube with a clear spot in the middle that allows you to see the product color. Indie Flick has very thin and lightly moisturizing formula. As far as matte lip products go, the Nyx Matte Lipsticks are some of the most moisturizing that I have tried, and they are very comfortable on the lips. Indie Flick has some intense color payoff and doesn't need to be built up whatsoever for an opaque look. Since Indie Flick is a quite warm red color, it can make your teeth appear yellow, but it is still a very pretty shade for spring and summer. XOX ♥
