How To | Step by StepI used the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer to prime my eyes to make sure my lid color is even. Once the concealer hat set, I applied the Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder Shadow in Bella Ivory all over my lids, as well as in the inner corners and right under my brows. In the waterline and tightline, I used a brown pencil liner from Ulta. You could also use the same technique with a black, blue, purple or green liner as well. To smudge out the lower lashline, I used Faint from the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette on a smudger brush. To blend out the brown shadow, I used Naked 2 from the same palette on a Zoeva Luxe Defined Crease Brush. To finish off the look, on the top lashes I used the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara and the Jordana Best Lash Extreme. For the bottom lashes, I used the Nyx The Skinny Mascara and the Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara.

Price: $3.49 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 1.04 g / 0.03 oz The Nyx Slim Lip Pencil in Peekaboo Neutral is a medium neutral pink with a warm undertone. The Nyx Slim Lip Pencils are the classic wooden lip liners that you use a sharpener with. The texture of Peekaboo Neutral is a little dry, but I don't really find it to skip on the lips. The drier texture and matte finish is what helps this liner to last so well on the lips. Since they feel dry on the lips, I wouldn't wear this lip liner by itself, but you could always top it with a clear gloss or even a lip balm if you don't want the color to be altered. Peekaboo Neutral is a pretty versatile color that would work as a great base for most nude or pink lip colors. XOX ♥
Anastasia Contour Refills in Clay, Espresso, Java, Fawn, Vanilla & Sand | Review & Swatches4/8/2015 Price: $40 * Buy At: Anastasia's Website * Size: 6 x 0.11 oz / 3 g Anastasia Beverly Hills lets you pick six of their twenty seven highlight and contour shades for $40, including the palette. This is the same price as their classic Contour Kit, but you get to pick the shades that work best for your skin tone. I bought two highlight shades: Vanilla and Sand, and four contour shades: Clay, Espresso, Java and Fawn. The Contour Kit is made of black cardboard and each face powder magnetizes into the palette. The pans of the contour and highlighting powders are surprisingly small. They only contain double the amount of a normal shadow, which could be a good thing so that I can actually use up some of the makeup I buy. However, with the pans being small, it is harder to get a larger contour or highlighting brush into the pan. Vanilla is a matte ivory highlight shade. It is noticeably more pigmented than other matte face highlights I have come across, but it still doesn't have quite the color payoff I imagined. It works well as a setting powder for my under eyes, but it doesn't add any coverage or brightness. Sand is a light ivory with subtle shimmer. The shimmer in this shade is quite subtle and takes a bit of building up to see on the skin. I wouldn't say that Sand is lacking in pigmentation, but it it quite similar to my skin tone so it doesn't show up as intense as I had anticipated. Fawn is a matte medium taupe with a slightly warm tone. The pigmentation is really nice, but not too intense, allowing for a much more natural contour. Java is a matte medium-light reddish tan. It has pretty good color payoff, but it isn't as pigmented as Fawn. Java and Fawn are pretty similar in color, but Fawn has more of a mustard tone, where Java has a reddish tint. Clay is a matte medium-dark reddish brown. It is very pigmented and it would work best as a contour for people with darker skin than mine. I can, however, use Clay with a light hand for a stronger contour look. Espresso is a matte dark reddish brown. The pigmentation on this one is great, but it is too dark for me. This would be a gorgeous contour on darker skin, and it also makes a great color for the eyes as well. All of the powders have a soft texture, but they aren't powdery like many soft powders tend to be. They are all very similar in formula and do not take much to blend out. XOX ♥
How To | Step by StepAfter priming my lids with the Elf Eyelid Primer, I used a sheer matte purple from the Lorac AfterGLO palette on a Sigma E25 for my transition color. To darken up the crease, I used Fig from the Smashbox Double Exposure Palette on a Zoeva Luxe Defined Crease Brush. From the Lorac Pro Palette 2, I applied Chrome from the middle to outer half of my crease. Also from the Pro Palette 2, I used Silver in the inner half of my lid. I typically use a matte shade in my inner corner, but for this look I used the same shimmery silver. For my winged liner, I used the Inglot #77 Gel Liner and a small angled brush. I pulled the line almost all the way into my inner corner and I didn't make the wing too big. In the waterline, I used the Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. I used both of my crease colors again for the lashline. I applied Fig with a flat liner brush right below my waterline, and blended it out with the sheer purple from the AfterGLO palette. On my lashes I used the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara as well as the Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara.
XOX ♥ Price: $5.99 * Buy At: Ulta The Real Techniques Lash-Brow Groomer is a dual sided brow and lash comb. The handle is the same purple color as the other eye brushes from Real Techniques. Although I don't really use it, the lash comb side comes with a small plastic cover to protect it. The bristles on the brow groomer are pretty dense and the lash comb is made out of some kind of metal. Lately, I have been getting into combing out my lashes between coats of mascara and I was finding that a plastic lash comb was just not cutting it. This metal lash comb works very well at separating the lashes as well as removing any clumps your mascara left behind. The brow side does a good job at softening the appearance of brow product, whether it be a pencil, powder or some kind of pomade. I think a lash/brow comb should be a part of every collection and I would definitely recommend this one from Real Techniques! XOX ♥
Price: $6 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 2.5 g The Nyx High Voltage Lipstick in Rock Star is a bright red with a pink undertone and a balmy finish. The High Voltage Lipsticks come in a thin tube with a clear lid. Despite having a rather balmy texture and shine, Rock Star has some intense pigmentation and doesn't need any building up. The formula of Rock Star is very comfortable on the lips, but since it has a somewhat slippery feel on the lips, I would wear a lip liner with it since it is such a bright color. The wear on these lipsticks aren't great, but they don't claim to be. I got a couple hours of color from Rock Star before needing to reapply. Personally, I am a big fan of the High Voltage line and if you like comfortable to wear lip colors, then I think that you would like them too! XOX ♥
