Price: * Buy At: Target * Size: The L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara has a large natural bristle wand. Since this mascara adds a decent amount of thickness to the lashes, it can get clumpy if you aren't careful. As the name suggests, the mascara also does a great job at adding volume to the lashes. Voluminous Carbon Black has become one of my go to mascaras for more dramatic lashes, and is one of only a few mascaras that I have repurchased. I don't find this mascara to flake or smudge throughout the day, although I usually do not have an issue with that. It works great on its own, as well as layered with other mascaras, and I would suggest it to anyone! XOX ♥

Price: $40 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 6 x 1.4 g The Buxom Suede Seduction Eye Shadow Palette consists of six matte shadows, three with a warm tone and three with a cool tone. The Suede Seduction Eye Shadow Palette has the same packaging as the customizable palettes, but it has a cool patterned lid and also has the shades written on the back. This is one of the premade palettes, and it includes exclusive shades and is limited edition. The shades in this palette are Social Scene, Trendsetter, Hot or Yacht, Beachfront, Invite Only & Cashmere Craving. Social Scene, Trendsetter and Beachfront are exclusive only to this palette, while the other three can be purchased separately. I just love the formula of Buxom shadows. They are smooth, creamy, super pigmented and so easy to blend. All the shadows in the palette are consistent in texture and pigmentation, which is great. I really like the color selection, as half of the palette is warm and half is cool; this makes it a great staple for combining with any shadow look. Since the palette does not contain any shimmery or super dark shadows, I would combine the palette with other shades. Overall, I love the palette and will continue to purchase shadows and palettes from Buxom, as the formula is just amazing and super consistent. XOX ♥
Price: $6 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 8 mL The Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Dubai is a dark red-brown with a matte finish. Dubai is a part of Nyx’s newest release from the Soft Matte Lip Cream line. The Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams are packaged in a colored tube that corresponds to the product inside. Like the rest of the line, Dubai has a sweet bakery scent, that I’m not crazy about, but it doesn’t keep me from using the product. The Soft Matte Lip Creams do not dry completely down like a matte liquid lipstick, as they are a lip cream. Because of this, it gives a more flattering look to the lips and doesn’t feel drying at all. The product feels smooth on the lips and does not flake off if you rub your lips together. Dubai is super pigmented, but doesn’t give as harsh of a look as a completely opaque lipstick or matte liquid lipstick. This makes this darker shade more wearable, something I think many people would enjoy. XOX ♥
Price: $36 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 3 x 2 g/0.07 oz & 6 x 0.9g/0.03 oz The Too Faced Peanut Butter & Jelly Eye Shadow Collection is a nine shadow palette with colors inspired by nothing but a PB&J sandwich. Like all of the Too Faced palettes that come in the little tin, this palette has three large shadows accompanied by six smaller shades. Like many Too Faced products, this palette has a delicious chocolate scent, which I absolutely love. Honestly, I was sold on this palette before I even saw it--just by the name. I eat PB&J sandwiches all the time and it is one of my favorite foods, so I had to get this palette. My only complaint with the palette is that most of the shades fall in the mid tone region, there aren’t any dark shades for adding further definition to the eyes. All four of the brown shadows (Peanut Butter, Peanut Butter Cup, Peanut Brittle, and Nuts About U) all look pretty similar, as they are all very warm, mid-tone browns. Despite the shade Jelly, the Peanut Butter & Jelly palette is quite neutral, so it works easily on a day to day basis. The shadow formulations are pretty consistent, but Jelly is a bit less pigmented than the rest, as you can probably tell in my swatches. All in all, I don’t think that this palette is quite a staple item, but if you are more of a makeup collector, or just love PB&J sandwiches (like I do) than I would definitely pick this palette up! The Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Sephora 500 Point Perk contains four deluxe sized products and one sample card, all from Tarte's Rainforest of the Sea collection for Summer 2016. I have never used any of my Sephora points, since I feel that the rewards are pretty stingy and not worth the points, but I figured I’d finally use some of them on this 500 point set from Tarte. The Marine Boosting 4-in-1 Mist is designed to work as a primer, makeup setting spray, hydrating mist and a skin refresher. I really like the scent of this product, it smells like Froot Loops. While the mist feels refreshing on the skin, I don’t see any skin or makeup benefits from it. I will definitely be keeping the cute little packaging, so that I can bring a setting spray with me when I travel. The Deep Dive Cleansing Gel is just a basic face cleanser that claims to remove waterproof makeup. I really didn't find it to be any different from my drugstore face washes, so while it's not a bad product by any means, for me it is so not worth the price tag. Lastly is the Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara, which has been a fan favorite from Tarte for a while. From the first application, I knew I liked this mascara. It is not a mascara that you have to be tedious with at all, it can be applied rather quick and still look great. I really like the semi-spiky wand, as it gives my lashes separation, and it holds just the right amount of product. The Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation claims to deliver hydration to the skin and twelve hour wear. The formula of the foundation is very thin, and thus has a light coverage. It works to cover large pores and skin discoloration, but if you have acne or redness, this isn't going to give you that kind of coverage. Me being fair, I used the lightest shade in the sample pack (light neutral) and it was still a bit dark, and like the three other shades, it is quite yellow-based. This foundation may be worth looking into for some people, but definitely not for me! The Drench Lip Splash Lipstick has an intensely pigmented and creamy formulation. The shade in this set is Beach Bum, which is a darker warm mauve with a satin matte finish. The lipstick feels super nice on my lips, and I am thinking of looking into the full sized range of shades. Price: €14.80 * Buy At: Zoeva's Website The Zoeva 114 Luxe Face Focus Brush is a fluffy, flat brush made of natural and synthetic bristles. Zoeva suggests this brush to be used for highlighting the face. The most similar brush I have to this one is the Real Techniques Setting Brush. However, the Face Focus brush is flatter and a bit more wide. I really like using this brush to highlight the top of my cheekbones, which is typically the only place that I apply highlight. You could use this brush to set under your eyes or powder specific areas on the face, but it isn't a fluffy brush so it may apply more product than desired. I have been using this brush a ton since I got it; I just really like Zoeva brushes! The brush has been holding up perfectly, as I expect from Zoeva, none of the bristles have shed or splayed so far. Price: $6 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 0.16 oz / 4.5 g The Nyx Matte Lipstick in Up The Bass is a dark grey-toned purple with a matte finish. Up The Bass is part of Nyx’s newest release from the Matte Lipstick line. The Nyx Matte Lipsticks are packaged in a matte black tube that’s clear in the center, making it easy to see the color inside. I love the formula of Nyx’s Matte Lipsticks, they are probably the most moisturizing matte I have tried. Up The Bass glides onto the lips, and feels very comfortable on the lips, despite the matte finish. The wear time of these lipsticks are more along the lines of a typical lipstick, requiring a couple of touch-ups throughout the day. However, I find that the occasional touch-ups are worth the comfortable, moisturizing wear. I personally love grey-toned lip colors, so Up The Bass is right up my alley, and could be an easier way to wear purple lips for those with cool skintones like mine. XOX ♥
I created this eye look with 4 of the 6 shadows I picked in my Buxom Customizable Eyeshadow Bar Palette. To see my review, photos and swatches of this palette, click HERE. How To | Step by StepTo create an even base for the look, I applied the Nyx Dark Circle Concealer over my lids and set it with an ivory shadow (not in my Buxom palette). As a transition shade, I applied Designer Or Die all over my crease. For the crease, I wanted a clean, sharp line for the outer corners, so I held up a thick piece of paper, but you could always use a piece of tape. I first applied some Gimme Gorgeous into the crease and darkened up the outer corner using Filthy Rich. I didn't pick out a highlight shade for my Buxom palette, so I just used a separate shade, which as usual is Inglot #318. To subtly incorporate the duochrome shade, No Faux, I applied some of it to the outer portion of my lids, blending it into the crease color. I really like the added dimension that this shadow gives, and it adds the slightest bit of color to the look. To finish off the shadow, I smoked out the lower lashline a bit with Filthy Rich and Gimme Gorgeous, but I didn't bring the shadow too far down. I applied the L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara to my top and bottom lashes and completed the look with the Ardell 110 lashes.
XOX ♥ Price: $6 * Buy At: ColourPop Website * Size: 3.2 g The ColourPop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Drive In is a medium red violet with a matte finish. The ColourPop Ultra Matte Lips come in a clear tube with a classic doe foot applicator. Drive In is very pigmented and has intense color payoff, providing an opaque look on the lips. It is very easy to apply and doesn't take much work to overline the lips just a bit. Plus, with the super matte finish, you can get away with overdrawing your lips easier. It feels a bit uncomfortable and dry on the lips right after application, but after a little bit of wear you hardly notice it on your lips. Drive In has great lasting power and can be pretty difficult to remove; I would definitely suggest using some coconut oil to remove it! XOX ♥
Price: $40 * Buy At: Sephora * Size: 6 x 0.05 oz The Buxom Customizable Eyeshadow Bar Palette is a custom eyeshadow palette that can fit 6 eye shadow pans. Each individual shadow is $12, but when you buy six shadows and the palette it is only $40. The six shadows I purchased are Designer or Die, No Faux, Pure Platinum, It Crowd, Filthy Rich and Gimme Gorgeous. The palette is small and compact and has the Buxom logo in gold on the lid. To put the single shadows in the palette, you slide the tray out from the side, put the shadows in, and slide the tray back in. It comes with the tiniest little brush ever, which is not very useful due to the size. I did not create my palette to be cohesive, but I really liked each individual color. With the color combo I chose, this would not be a palette I would travel with, but the palette itself is very travel friendly. The formulation of these shadows is amazing, which of course is what interested me in this palette. Pure Platinum is the most intense metallic silver I have ever used, I barely had to apply any to get the intensity in the swatch photos. All three matte shades--Designer or Die, Gimme Gorgeous and Filthy Rich--apply beautifully and are so easy to blend out. It Crowd and No Faux have equally great formulation and pigmentation, and are fun to add to a neutral look to add some color. I will definitely be getting my hands on another palette soon! XOX ♥
