Nyx Brooklyn Thorn, Downtown Beauty, Sway & Jet Set Suede Matte Lip Liners | Review & Swatches9/14/2016 Price: $3.99 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 0.03 oz / 1 g The Nyx Suede Matte Lip Liners are the upgraded version of their classic slip lip pencils. The Suedes come in a much more unique range of colors, including blues, blacks, purples and so on. The Suede Matte Lip Liners come as a matte black pencil with the corresponding color on the end. They look almost the same as the Slim Lip Pencils, but they are matte, giving them a much more sleek appearance. I really like the colors available in this line. Many of them correspond with shades from the Liquid Suede Lip Cream line. I have Brooklyn Thorn as a Liquid Suede, and now as a lip liner as well. The Suede Matte Lip Liners pull slightly on the lips, which allows for a more precise line. The product is not going to glide across the lip line, which tends to create an uneven, oddly shaped outline. The drier texture also allows for longer lasting power, which is a major purpose for using a lip liner. They all have pretty opaque coverage, with the exception of Jet Set which is not quite opaque, as you can see on my lips. I picked up four shades to go with some of my bolder colors that I have not been able to find from other brands. When wearing a bold lip, you have to be sure that it is applied as neatly as possible, so having these unique lip liners is quite helpful. Compared to the Slim Lip Pencils, these are 50 cents more, which obviously is not an issue. I prefer the packaging and color range of these new lip liners, and I believe that they apply a bit more smooth and slightly more pigmented. XOX ♥

How To | Step by StepAs a base for this eye look, I used the Sephora Jumbo Liner in Black. The darker you make your lid color, the more the blue liner will stand out. I used a mixture of Noir and Espresso from the Smashbox Double Exposure Palette all over the lid, and buffed it out into the crease. To create room for the eyeliner, I first used some makeup remover to remove the dark shadow. I then lined my eyes with the Sephora Nano Liner in Pure White. On top of the white liner, I applied the bright blue from the Sleek Ultra Mattes V1 iDivine Palette using an angled liner brush. This took a bit of layering to get the intensity that I wanted. I used the same blue shadow on the lower lashline, although you could use the dark brown or just leave it bare. I popped a bit of white shadow in the inner corners to highlight. To complete the look, I simply applied mascara to my top and bottom lashes.
XOX ♥ Price: $6.49 * Buy At: Kmart * Size: 0.7g The Rimmel Magnif'eyes Dual Ended Shadow + Kajal Liners are a cream shadow and kajal liner duo. They come in five shades, you can see my review of the other two from the collection HERE. Back To Blacks has a black kajal liner and a shimmery gunmetal cream shadow. Pink & Purple Rain has a dark purple kajal liner and a shimmery light pink cream shadow. Dark Side of Blue has a bright cobalt kajal liner and a satin dark grey cream shadow. The Magnif'eyes Duos consist of a kajal liner and a cream shadow stick, both of which are twist up products. To state it simply: I absolutely love these. I purchased the other two shades from the line, which I already posted a review of, and I just had to go back and pick up the rest of the line, something I never do. Both the shadow and the liner are so super creamy and just glide onto the skin. This formulation is consistent across all five duos, which is really great. The liners and shadows are very intense and pigmented, and the color lasts all day on the eyes, and actually can be difficult to remove! The liner and show set quickly on the eyes, so if you are looking to blend it out, you have to work quickly. The product does not need to be set, but does work great as an eyeshadow base. XOX ♥
Makeup Geek Creme Brulee, Preppy, Bedrock, High Tea & Dirty Martini Eye Shadows | Review & Swatches9/6/2016 Price: $6 * Buy At: Makeup Geek's Website * Size: 0.05 oz Bedrock is described as a “medium grey with strong brown undertones”. This shade is pretty much the exact same shade as the new Makeup Geek shade: Friend Zone. You can see the comparison that there is hardly a difference between the two, which is disappointing. High Tea is described as a “medium brown with strong grey undertones,” so the opposite of Bedrock. I see the shade as having a bit of a green tint to it, however. Creme Brulee is described as a “medium sand”. Creme Brulee is super popular as a transition shade in the crease, and it can work with a variety of looks since it is a bit on the neutral side. Preppy is described as a “khaki brown” and Dirty Martini is described as an “olive green”. Makeup Geek has always been very consistent in their shadow formulations, and all five of these shades have a smooth texture, good pigmentation, and they are easy to blend. XOX ♥
Price: $5 * Buy At: ColourPop Website * Size: 1g The ColourPop Lippie Stix in Wet is a taupe with a pearlized finish. The Lippie Stix have a long white tube with the product inside being smaller than a traditional lipstick. I have smaller lips, so I quite like this feature. The product has a nice vanilla scent, but it is not overwhelming. Wet is a really unique color; I haven’t seen any color like it. Metallic lips are becoming a trend, and Wet could be an alternative to a metallic liquid lipstick, if it is not your thing. Being a part of the Lippie Stix line, Wet is comfortable to wear on the lips, but doesn’t have the most longwearing formula. All in all, I really like this product and love how unique the shade is! Price: $7.49 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 0.13 fl oz The Nyx Cosmic Metals Lip Creams are shimmery, metallic lip colors that come in a variety of unique shades. I picked up the shades Dark Nebula, Extraterrestrial & Galactic. The Cosmic Metals come in the same packaging as Nyx’s Liquid Suede Lip Creams: a clear tube with a black “jewel” lid and a long, flat applicator. All the shades have very good pigmentation (I only purchased three, but I did test all the shades at Ulta). The more product you apply, the less chrome it looks and the more shimmery it appears. The product is not uncomfortable on the lips, but tends to be a bit sticky. The wear becomes more comfortable after a little while, and it does not leave behind any gritty pieces of glitter. The Cosmic Metals are not the easiest to remove, they tend to leave behind a slight tint and some shimmer. I recommend using an oil (I like coconut oil) to remove the lip color, to avoid any unnecessary scrubbing. I love unique, bold lip colors, and I have been getting behind the metallic lip trend. These do not make a grey, blue or green lip more wearable, but I think they are gorgeous worn alone, or on top of a lipstick or lip liner. XOX ♥
