Price: $6 * Size: 0.14 oz / 4 g * Buy At: Ulta The Nyx Matte Lipstick in Nude is a peachy pink lipstick with of course, a matte finish. On me it isn't really a nude, but it is a beautiful color. Since this is a lighter color and it is fairly bright, I would suggest this color for light or fair skin. Nude applies very smoothly on the lips and has a creamy formula despite the fact that it's matte. Nude is very pigmented and almost gives the lips a painted look because of the pigmentation. This lipstick has a quite thin formula and is slightly moisturizing. Although, since it is a matte finish, I suggest applying Nude over a lip balm to get the most comfortable feel on the lips. XOX ♥

Price: $7.99 * Buy At: Target * Size: 3 x 0.25 This fun & inexpensive lip balm set contains 2 sphere lip balms from the permanent EOS line: Sweet Mint & Pomegranate Raspberry, along with a limited edition one: Vanilla Bean. Each lip balm is in the classic egg shaped packaging with EOS printed on the top and the bottom. The lip balms have a flat bottom which allows them to sit on a flat surface. They are also 100% natural and 95% organic. For scents, I am going to start off with Sweet Mint. First, I would like to mention that to me, this smells much more like peppermint than a sweet mint and I hate it. I think that anyone who likes mint (pretty much everyone except for me) would love this one, but it makes me gag, so I gave it to my sister. On a more positive note, I like Pomegranate Raspberry and Vanilla Bean. Pomegranate Raspberry has a nice fruity scent, but I noticed that this one isn't as fragrant as my other seven EOS lip balms. This may just be the one in this set, or maybe it's just how this scent is. Lastly is the limited edition Scent, Vanilla Bean. It has a nice vanilla scent, with almost a little bit of mint, which I assume is from the Sweet Mint EOS. Most of the other EOS lip balms are fruity, so I think that this would be a nice EOS for anyone who isn't a fan of fruity scents. Each EOS lip balm in this holiday set are very smooth and moisturizing, without being too thick. These lip balms do not provide the longest moisturization compared to some of my other favorite lip balms, but these are still very nice lip balms, especially with the inexpensive price tag. XOX ♥
Price: $8.99 * Buy At: Walgreens * Size: 0.095 oz / 2.7 g I have been waiting for these to be released in the drugstores and I was so happy to find the display at Walgreens! Revlon's new take on their popular Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains is the new Lacquer & Matte Balms. I wasn't sure if I would like the Matte Balms, so I just picked up one of the shades of the Lacquer Balms. The shade I picked up is Coquette, a yellow-toned pink with some very small pieces of glitter. The Revlon Lacquer Balms are a jumbo lip pencil that is a twist up format. The packaging of the Lacquer Balms is the color of the product, which I really like. The packaging format and the size of the Lacquer Balms is the same as the original Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. The Lacquer Balms also have a similar minty scent that the Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains have. The only difference between the two kinds is that the Lacquer Balms have a very reflective package. The glitter in Coquette is very small and not very visible on the lips, so if you are not a fan of glittery lips (like me) I wouldn't worry about this one. The glitter does leave the slightest bit of a gritty feel, but not enough to steer someone away from Coquette. Application of Coquette is consistent with the original Balm Stains and I don't think that it is that much glossier than the originals either. What I love about the Revlon Balm Stains is that they feel very thin and moisturizing and are perfect products for people who don't like the feel of lipsticks or glosses. Coquette is not high maintenance and can easily be applied on the go with out a mirror. XOX ♥
Price: $8 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 2.03 fl oz / 60 mL The NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray is a spray intended to be used after makeup application to give a matte look and to extend the wear of your makeup. This Setting Spray does not have an aerosol spray. I like spraying this on my face because it gives you a cool, refreshing feel. I use 2 or 3 sprays to cover my face, holding the bottle 6-8 inches away from my face. The spray stays where you put it and does not run down your face whatsoever. While it provides the cool feeling, I do not notice a difference in the finish of my skin, meaning it does not make my face look more matte. It does not make my face look dewy or shiny either, it leaves the skin with quite the natural skin look. Whether it extends your makeup or not all depends on you and your skin type. I have dry-combination skin, so my makeup normally stays on pretty well. I am not sure how this setting spray would work on oily skin. I have noticed an increase in wear in my makeup. I don't use this everyday (mainly because I forget to) but I have found that my makeup doesn't look that great by the time I get home on the days I don't use the spray. Often during the middle of the day when I look in the mirror and think "wow, my makeup looks better today than usual," it's the day that I have used this setting spray. I find that this setting spray maintains the color and color intensity of my eye looks as well as maintains my blush color throughout the day. (I can't speak for it prolonging foundation, as I rarely wear foundation).
XOX ♥ Price: $5 * Buy On: Nyx's Website * Size: 4 g / 1.4 oz The Nyx Powder Blush in Taupe is a matte taupe blush that is a great contour color for people with fair skin. Taupe is nicely pigmented, but not too pigmented so you can have a controlled contour. I like to use Taupe with my Real Techniques Contour Brush to contour my cheeks & nose. Taupe blends out really nicely, making it easy to avoid a harsh brown line on your face. XOX ♥
I thought I would do some "overall favorites" posts and I am starting off with pink blushes! I wanted it to just be a fave 5, but I couldn't get my self to leave one of these six blushes out of my favorites! First of my favorite pink blushes is the Nyx Powder Blush in Peach. This was my first Nyx Blush and it really shows its age! Peach is a cool toned pink, not really peachy at all. Next is Deep Throat from Nars. Deep Throat is a peachy pink blush with a little bit of shimmer and looks very natural on the cheeks. Another one of my favorite pink blushes is Mocha, another Nyx Powder Blush. Mocha is a darker pink and has more of a red tone to it. Next up is the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Pink Plum. Pink Plum is a nice neutral toned pink and it has the coolest texture to it! After this blush is the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Amused, a cool toned pink. Amused is a beautiful color and lasts all day on me. Lastly is another Nyx blush, but this time, the Rouge Cream Blush. This one is in the shade Natural. Natural is a pink with a red undertone and a glossy finish (it goes away once blended out). I like this blush because it is the most waterproof out of my blushes due to the cream formula. XOX ♥
Price: $6.49 * Buy At: Target * Size: 0.09 oz The Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Sorbet is a bright pink with a yellow undertone. While the Revlon Lip Butters are designed to be a more sheer product, Sorbet is really easily built up to a nearly opaque pink color. The Revlon Lip Butters are in a usual twist up tube and the product is cut flat and angled at the top. I find the product to be quite thick and this can make it a bit difficult to apply on small lips (like mine). That aside, I like the packaging of the Lip Butters. They have a long lid that are colored similar to the product inside. Sorbet has the moisture of a lip balm and the pigmentation of a semi-sheer lipstick. Sorbet it buildable for a pretty, bright pink, but can also be worn in a more subtle way. Sorbet has a nice shine to it when built up, but isn't very shiny when lightly applied. Sorbet's color lasted for 2-3 hours on me before needing to be applied again. XOX ♥
Price: $12 * Buy At: Sephora * Size: 0.082 fl oz The Sephora Color Proof Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Matte Brown is a very dark brown with a matte finish. Oddly enough, when looking at the "brush" of this liner, it appears that there is glitter in this liner, but when swatched or applied on the lids, there is no visible glitter or sparkle. It is waterproof to a point and when it comes off, the liner flakes off. Some may think that this is a bad thing, but, I would much prefer for my liner to cleanly flake off than run down my face if it gets wet. I really like this eyeliner. It applies very smooth and evenly and you do not need to keep dunking the brush in the product to finish the line. The brush is stiff which allows an easy, clean line, but it is not too stiff to a point that it could hurt your eyelid. This liner wore all day on me with no primer. XOX
Price: $7.99 * Size: 7.2 ml / 0.24 fl oz * Buy At: Target The L'Oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara comes in a long grey tube that resembles the shape of a telescope, which I think is really cute! The waterproof formula has blue writing on the tube, and the non-waterproof formula has red writing. The Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara has a long, thin wand. The wand is also slightly pinched in the middle, which I don't think makes a difference to the lashes. To me, he formula is more on the dry side, and it dries quickly on the lashes. The mascara applied nicely and did not clump my lashes together. The first coat of the Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara added quite a bit of length to my lashes and the thickness and volume came as I built up the mascara. This mascara held up really well against water, the first time I wore it, I slammed my finger in my car door which caused quite a bit of crying and the mascara didn't budge. If you rub your lashes while they are wet, some of the mascara will flake off, but it doesn't smear or run at all. This mascara is also on the more difficult side of removal. ResultsXOX ♥
Price: $2.99 * Buy At: Walgreens * Size: 0.5 oz / 1.4 g Revlon has come out with a new collection of single shadows called ShadowLinks. These little (but full sized) powder shadows slide together on the side to connect the single colors into customized palettes. I have picked up 2 colors, Cocoa & Plum. You can connect these little shadows together on the side. While this is a neat concept, I don't think that it is that great. When you slide the shadows together, they don't lock or snap into place and can easily be pulled apart from the top or the bottom. It's also odd to open a lid for each shadow you want to use, since all other shadow palettes have one large lid and many shadows under it. There are not many matte shades in this line and Plum is one of them. Plum is a dark, neutral purple. Cocoa, a darker brown, appears to be matte, but has a satin finish. Oddly enough, Plum is more pigmented than Cocoa despite that it is a matte. The texture of both shadows is slightly dry, not chalky, but definitely not buttery or smooth. The pigmentation of both shadows just isn't that great, I have also heard from other people that other shades are not pigmented either. I built up both shades in the swatch pictures. While $3 per shadow seems cheap, a $9 trio or a $12 quad isn't as cheap in the drugstore. Honestly, unless there is a color you are just dying to try from this line, I would skip the Revlon ShadowLinks. XOX
