I've been wanting to get a felt tip liner for a while now, and Essence's is the cheapest I have found. Essence also has another liner pen that isn't super fine, but, I decided to go with the super fine version so I could get however thick or thin line I wanted. Right off the bat, I noticed that you could use the very tip. My first felt liner that I got over a year ago from Sephora had a tip that was too dry to line with. So, I was very happy with this. As for the color, it isn't as black as it could be, but it is fairly black. But, if you get any water on it, the top layer turns purple and slides off with the water and leaves you with a medium purple-ish grey remain. This is odd, but, I didn't notice it running or turning purple at all when it was on my eyes. I wore this on my top lid for an all day volleyball tournament and even with a sweaty face, the liner didn't come off. It is also easy to apply. So far I haven't noticed it making the line darker or more pigmented in one place and the color and amount of liner is even.
