Valentine's Day is coming up soon and here I have a cute heart mani perfect for the upcoming holiday. To start off this nail art, I painted each of my nails a base coat. I painted my index finger and pinky nail white, middle finger light pink and ring finger a darker pink. The white nails were pretty simple to finish, I used two different hearts and a few small pink balls from a nail art rhinestone kit and carefully applied them to the semi-wet nail. For the light pink nail, I used a small dotting tool in white polish to make two dots and carefully dragged them together to make the heart shape. I repeated this until the nail was filled with little hearts. For the darker pink nail, I used a white polish to make the shape of a hear and outlined it with white dots once it had dried. To finish it off I used the same darker pink color and a small dotting tool to outline the inside of the heart. Lastly, I applied top coat to all the nails. XOX ♥
Polishes Used: Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Gilded Lily (Gold), Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Celeb City (Silver), Sephora by OPI Flurry Up (Silver Glitter), Maybelline ColorShow Twilight Rays (Black) & Sinful Colors Bad Chick (White Striper) First I want to address my index fingernail, as you can see it is ripped quite a bit below the white part of my nail and does not look too attractive...so sorry about that! I kept it fairly simple for these New Years nails and started off with the base color. I used gold on my index finger and pinky, silver on my middle finger and black on my ring finger and thumb. I left the gold nails alone and finished the silver nail with two coats of a chunky silver glittery top coat. I did a firework on both nails with a black base. To make the firework, I used a white striper to create curved lines coming from the upper corner of my nail with various thicknesses. To tie in the gold and silver, I used both colors layered over some of the white lines. I also added little starts from one of my nail rhinestone kits, but that is not necessary. XOX ♥
Using my Winter/Christmas nail art wheel, I created a festive Christmas manicure. I hope you like it! Polishes Used: Revlon Posh (Green), Sephora by OPI Keep Me On My Mistle-toes (Gold), Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Red Carpet (Red), Sephora by OPI Only Gold For Me (Gold Glitter Top Coat) and Sinful Colors Bad Chick (White Striper), For the base colors of this nail design, I used red on my pinky and index finger, green on my ring finger and thumb, and gold on my middle finger. I finished up the gold nail with multiple coats of gold glitter. For the bow french tip nail, I painted 2 coats of the same red on the tip of the nail and let it dry before using a white striper to separate the two colors. I then used the striper to create a white bow on the stripe. On my thumb, I created a snowflake using the same white striper. First, I painted the main six lines by making a vertical line and crossing two lines over it in opposite directions. To finish the snowflake's shape, I added two little lines on either side of each "arm" of the snowflake. I finished it off with a rhinestone in the center and of course a top coat! XOX ♥
I really love creating nail art wheels because I can create 20 different designs and it is easier than painting on your own nails. I haven't done a nail art wheel since the 4th of July, so I figured it was time for another! Polishes Used: Revlon Posh (Green), Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Cinna-snap (Burgundy), Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Red Carpet (Glittery Red), Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White Out (White), Wet N Wild Black Creme (Black), Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Golden-I (Light Gold), Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Peachy Keen (Nude), Pure Ice Don't You Wish (White Glitter Top Coat), Sephora by OPI Only Gold For Me (Gold Glitter Top Coat), Zoya Flynn (Brown), Zoya Sailor (Navy), Nails Inc Porchester Square (Light Brown), Sinful Colors Striper in Time Off, Sinful Colors Striper in Bad Chick (White Details), LA Colors Art Deco in Bright Orange & LA Colors Art Deco in Red (Red Details) XOX ♥
This year I went with a cute, festive nail design for Thanksgiving. I did get inspiration for my look on Pinterest. POLISHES USED: OPI My Vampire Is Buff (Ivory), Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Peachy Keen (Nude), Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Cinna-snap (Burgundy), LA Colors Nail Deco in Red (Red), LA Colors Nail Deco in Orange (Orange), Zoya Flynn (Tan) & Sephora by OPI Only Gold For Me (Chunky Gold Glitter Top Coat) To start off the look I painted my pinky nail & thumb nail with a nude color. I painted my ring finger ivory & my middle and index fingers burgundy. All I did for the burgundy nails was a coat of gold glitter. For the pinky & thumb nail, I started off with 2 thin stripes of a tan polish to create a V shape. I then added 2 thin stripes of a red polish under the tan to create another V. To finish, I used a small dotting tool and the same burgundy polish to add little dots above the tan V. Last was the turkey nail! I started this nail by painting 3 red & 2 orange feathers. Once this dried, I added the turkeys body with a tan polish and a large dotting tool. To finish the turkey, I added little eyes and a beak! I hope you enjoyed my nail design! Have a great Thanksgiving! XOX ♥
You may be thinking, it's November! Why palm tree nail art? I recently went on a vacation to the beach and thought that this nail art would be perfect! For this look, I started off painting my nails a base color. My ring finger was painted white (Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On) and all my other nails were painted mint (Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Mint Sorbet). Once the white base dried, I moved onto the ombre. I painted a stripe of white, mint & a blueish green (Essie First Timer) onto a makeup sponge and sponged it onto my ring finger to blend the colors together. I let it dry for about a minute and followed up with a top coat to further blend the colors. Lastly was the palm tree, I freehanded the palm tree with a black striper (Sinful Colors Time Off). Once it dried, I added another layer of top coat (INM Out The Door) and my nail design was done! XOX ♥
Yes, I know my nails don't look perfect...but here is my Halloween manicure for this year! Polishes Used: Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On (White), Maybelline ColorShow Twilight Rays (Black), Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Mellow Yellow (Yellow), Pure Ice Don't You Wish (Glitter), Nails Inc Holland Park (purple), Nailtini Mai Tai (Orange), Sinful Colors Nail Art Black (Black details) & LA Colors Art Deco White (White details) To begin this manicure, I painted all my nails a base color. My thumb was painted black (the polish I used had gold glitter in it), my middle finger was painted orange, my pinky was painted white & my ring and index fingers were painted purple. The thumb was the easiest, once the black base dried, I followed up with one coat of my glitter topcoat. For the index finger (spider web) after the purple base dried, I free handed a spider web with a nail art brush. The nail art polish was quite goopy and difficult to work with, so sorry about the slightly messy spiderweb. I also added some of the glitter topcoat over the spiderweb. On the middle finger (polka dots) I used a dotting tool and the black polish to evenly dot my nail, I also used the glitter topcoat on this nail. For the ring finger (jack o' lantern) I used a white polish to paint the shape of the pumpkin before the orange to make it vibrant. Again, my nail art polish was goopy (I really need to get some new ones) and It was difficult to get the perfect lines I was hoping for. For the jack o' lantern I free handed the triangle eyes, nose & the mouth. Lastly was the pinky finger (candy corn ombre) which I ended up switching the yellow and orange, I guess I thought candy corn went white-yellow-orange. For the ombre, I painted 3 stripes on a makeup sponge and sponged all over my nail until the colors blended together. I hope this manicure can give you some ideas for your Halloween nail art!
XOX ♥ I saw Monsters University a few weeks ago with my little cousins, and it brought back how much I love Monsters Inc! I think Monsters Inc has to be my favorite Disney movie, so I was inspired to do some nail art! Polishes UsedWhite - Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On Blue - Essie In The Cab-ana Green - Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Perfect Pear-ing Purple - Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Pinch of Punch Black - Wet N Wild Black Creme Black Striper - LA Colors Art Deco Black I also used a dotting tool, black sharpie, blue flocking powder & purple flocking powder for this nail art. How ToStart off by painting all your nails with a base coat of polish. I used white on my middle finger & thumb for the Monsters Inc logo nail as well as the Mike Wazowski nail. I painted my pinky finger green & my index finger purple because these 2 nails won't have a design. Lastly, I did a very thin coat of blue on my ring finger as a blue base for the flocking powder. For the fuzzy Sully nail, I pressed my ring finger into blue flocking powder when the base coat was wet. Then, I used a purple polish to make 3 dots on the blue and then pressed the nail into purple flocking powder to get the look of Sully's blue & purple fur. On the Monster's Inc logo nail, I carefully used my blue polish to paint the M. I created a thick vertical line on both sides of my nail and then dragged it towards the middle to make the M shape. Once it dried, I made the small white eye in the middle with a dotting tool & added a black pupil. Lastly is the Mike Wazowski nail. I started off with a semi circle covering a little more than half my nail. Once this dried, I added a large white semi circle at the bottom to be Mike's eye. Inside the eye I added a blue iris and black pupil with a dotting tool. I finished off by outlining the head and eye, as well as adding little horns to the top of his head.
I hope you liked this nail design! XOX ♥ For this manicure I used dELiA*s Nail Polish in Blue-Mint, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Polish in Coral Reef, Love Charlotte xo Polish in Peach, Pure Ice Polish in Don't You Wish & a double ended dotting tool. Start off with a teal or blue base, making sure it's nice and opaque. Then, use a colorless glitter polish and paint over the blue on any nails that you will not be putting starfish on. I did this on my pinky, middle and index finger. I had to use 4 coats of this glitter to get it as sparkly as I wanted. To create the starfishes, I used a coral polish and the larger end of a dotting tool. Then, dot or drag the tool in the shape of a star. It's okay if it's not perfect because starfish sometimes have legs that are longer or crooked. Make sure the starfishes are completely filled in with polish and let them dry. To make them look more like starfish, use the smaller end of a dotting tool to create little dots on the starfishes. Using a peach polish, I put one dot in the middle of each starfish and two dots on each leg of the starfish. Now, add the glitter used on the other nails between the starfish. Lastly, add a top coat if you wish. If you want to add to this nail look more, you could use coral "caviar" beads on the starfishes to give it more of a starfish texture. You could also put coral flocking powder (found at craft stores) on the starfishes to make them fuzzy!

Sally Hansen- Peachy Keen & LA Colors Art Deco- White
Happy Valentine's Day! I didn't do Valentine's Day nails this year, but, instead went with classic French tips. I started by smoothing & filing my nails with my 6-in-1 nail file from Forever 21. For my nude nail color, I used 2 coats of Sally Hansen Salon Manicure in Peachy Keen. One coat of this polish is really sheer, but, two coats gives you a nice opaque color. I like this one because it is a great nude for my skin tone. It was however, a little bit streaky. To get the french tips I used a white striper polish and created a little line on both sides and connected them in the middle, I feel doing this is easier than trying to make one big line. I finished my nails off with a top coat to seal in the tip, and voila! What's on your nails? XOX ♥ |
