Yep, today is my birthday! I did my nails to match the dress I wore, and I think I got my nails to be the exact same color as my dress. I used two coats of Revlon Eclectic over one coat of dEliA*s Blue-mint. I used the dEliA*s color to brighten up Eclectic a little to match my dress more. Come back in a day or two to see my birthday haul! XOX ♥
I have been looking for a pastel peach for a while and I think I finally found it! The peaches from other brands were always too sheer or too pink. The packaging for all the Charlotte Russe nail polishes are thin & rectangular, similar to the OCC or American Apparel nail polishes. Honestly, this polish formula sucks. Using thin coats makes the color uneven and streaky, but, using thick coats isn't much better. It chipped super fast. I tried a base coat under it, white polish under it, and a top coat over it. I did find that it stayed better on stronger, longer nails. It chipped right off my shorter nails. I really don't like the polish itself, but, the color is unique & gorgeous and is worth working with. XOX ♥
Product Information Size: 0.33 Fl. Oz. / 10 ml Price: $9.50 Buy at: Sephora Colors Available Cornwall (Blue & White), Chester (Pale Blue, Yellow & Peach), York (Peach & White), Edinburgh (Pale Blue & Peach) and Brighton (Green, Blue & Yellow) On Nail's Inc's Website: http://www.nailsinc.com/nailpolish/cornwall-feathers/1255/ On Sephora's Website: http://www.sephora.com/product/productDetail.jsp?keyword=nails%20inc.%20cornwall&skuId=1498252&productId=P378278&_requestid=163777 Photo from Sephora's website The Story...Nails Inc. once again came out with a line of unique polishes. This is what I really love about the brand. Instead of just constantly coming out with new colors, they come out with all sorts of polishes other brands don't have (like Feathers, Leather, Sprinkles, Denim, Magnetic, Mirror Metallic, Graffiti, Nail Jewelry, Concrete...) I was at Sephora to get my free birthday gift & spend some of my Beauty Insider points and decided to try on the Feathers collection that I had seen before on Nails Inc.'s website. I hadn't planned on picking up anything from this collection...until I tried it on. The PolishCornwall is a clear polish filled with tiny royal blue & white "feathers". The Feathers polishes are similar to the glitter top coats that have long, skinny glitter, however, this polish isn't shiny, which I feel looks nicer and more toned down. ApplicationWhile Nails Inc. suggests using 2 or 3 coats of this polish, 1 coat gives a unique look as well. See the photo on the left for 1 coat of Cornwall. The photo on the right used 2 coats of Cornwall. I suggest using a top coat to prevent any feathers from peeling or lifting off your nail. This polish applied pretty nicely. I feel like it was easier to get an even amount of feathers all over the nail than most glitter top coats. XOX ♥ Top Right: Flash ♥ Top Left: Bathroom Lighting ♥ Bottom Right: Top is bathroom light & bottom is natural ♥ Bottom Left: The 3 Polishes In all photos above, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Golden-I is on the leftmost finger, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Coin Flip is on the finger in the middle & Sephora by OPI Keep Me On My Mistletoes is on the rightmost finger. ComparisonsI was very disappointed that Golden-I & Coin Flip were so similar. I don't mind when I find dupes in my collection from different brands, but, from the same brand and the same line? Plus, Coin Flip just came out! Anyway, Coin Flip is a little darker and a little more bronze-toned than Golden-I. You can tell the most difference between the polishes in the flash pictures. Also, Golden-I is more yellow than Keep Me On My Mistletoes, which is the lightest of the 3 shades. Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Coin FlipLike all the Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polishes, Coin Flip applied smoothly and opaque in 2 coats. I love the reflective shades from this line. (I also have Celeb City, which is a reflective silver) I do like the color, but, I wish it were much more bronze to distinguish it from Golden-I.
XOX ♥ Yep! I recently just picked up 2 more of my favorite Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polishes. What can I say, I am kind of addicted to them. I got these two because at my Target (I'm not sure if all Targets are doing this at the moment) they are 50 cents off and are on sale for $1.99! The shades I got are Mellow Yellow & Invisible. Mellow Yellow is a bright yellow creme. It definitly is not neon, but, it is a bright color. This color is more sheer than all my other Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polishes, so I had to use 2 coats to make the color opaque. Invisible is a clear polish. I think clear polishes look nice on nautral nails for when you aren't in the mood for color, and they also can act as a top coat. In my opinion, there isn't really a difference between top coats & clear polishes. I haven't been too happy with the top coat I've had for a while, and thought, I love this brand, so I should try out their clear polish! In the picture above, I used 2 coats of Mellow Yellow on my middle finger. On my ring finger, I used 2 coats of Mellow Yellow & a coat of Invisible on top. On my pinky finger, I used 2 coats of Invisible. I feel like Invisible made Mellow Yellow a little brighter & more intense. (Sorry about the messiness, especially on my middle finger!) XOX ♥ ******DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT EXPECTING TO GET ALL THE THINGS I'M ASKING FOR. I JUST HAVE A HARD TIME DECIDING ON ONE OR TWO NAIL POLISHES****** When most people are asked "what do you want for your birthday?" they just say something like "I don't know." I am not one of those people. I am very specific and spend a long time deciding exactly what I want! Here's the nail polishes I'm asking for for my birthday! ***All photos of the nail polish are from the brand's website, with the exclusion of the Essie polishes that are from Beautezine's website (because the Resort Collection is not out yet and not on Essie's website) & Flip Flop Fantasy is from Nail Polish Canada (because the photo on China Glaze's website doesn't look the same)***
Product Information Price: $4.00 Buy At: Walmart Size: 7.8 ml / 0.26 fl. oz. Shades Available: 9 (In the Crushed Chrome collection) On Hard Candy's Website: http://www.hardcandy.com/beauty/nails/?cat=crushed-chromes Hard Candy Crushed Chromes Nail Polish in Crush on Caribbean is a gorgeous teal shimmer with loads of finely milled green glitter. You can really see the glitter in the bottom swatch, that I made blurry to make the glitter more noticeable. This polish is nice and opaque, I only used one coat for the swatches! It was easy and smooth to apply, just like the Candy Sprinkles polishes from Hard Candy. Like I said in my other Hard Candy polish post, the packaging is skinny & tall, similar to the Maybelline Color Show Polishes. However, these are taller & skinnier. They have an average brush and dry with about average time. Overall, these polishes have a great formula and come in some absolutely gorgeous colors! I recommend them!
