Price: $2.49 * Buy At: Target * Size: 0.4 fl oz / 11.8 mL Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear has been my favorite nail polish brand for a really long time! When I saw that they had a new line at Target, I got so excited that the people around me probably thought I was a freak. Anyway, Sally Hansen has come out with a new line of 10 colors for Summer 2013 and I picked up 5. The ones I didn't pick up were Lemon Zest (a shimmery mustard yellow), Blueberry Blast (a shimmery dark blue), Razz-berry (a mid tone pink creme), Ice Pop (a silver glitter top coat) & Pink-Grape Fruit (a purple and pink glitter top coat). Peach BeachPeach Beach is a medium peachy coral pink creme. I found that Peach Beach was the most streaky on me out of the 5 I bought. It was also a little more sheer and required 3 coats on some nails, unlike the others. If you are wondering about how it compares to the permanent shade Coral Reef, Coral Reef is darker than Peach Beach and a little more red. Pinch of PunchPinch of Punch is a pink-leaning purple creme. This kind of purple (and pastel purples) are the only kinds I will wear, so I'm glad Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear now has one! Pinch of Punch was pretty opaque and only needed 2 coats. I found that Pinch of Punch was really glossy looking, the most glossy out of the 5 for some reason (I didn't use a top coat). Berry JuicyBerry Juicy is a clean, bright pastel pink creme. This one is my favorite from the collection & I couldn't stop looking at my nails when it was on! Unlike a lot of pale pink polishes, this one was very opaque and bright and only required 2 coats to even the color out. Kiwi BikiniKiwi Bikini is a darker green teal creme. The formula of Kiwi Bikini was the thinnest to me, but it was still pretty opaque with 2 coats. Perfect Pear-ingPerfect Pear-ing is a light green creme that isn't mint and isn't lime. This polish was quite sheer when applied in thin coats, but was really opaque (and looked brighter) when applied with thick coats. The closest color I have to Perfect Pear-ing is Essie's First Timer, which is more blue. Berry Juicy & Perfect Pear-ing were my favorites from the 5 that I picked up, but these 5 are my favorite of the Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Summer 2013 line. All of these polishes lasted a few days before chipping without a top coat.
XOX ♥ Price: $3.98 * Buy At: Walmart * Size: 15 mL / 0.5 fl. oz Salon Perfect's Kaboom is from their new Neon Collisions collection. This is a really unique collection of matte glitters. Like I said, I have the shade Kaboom to share with you. It's a mix of teal & yellow-green matte glitter. I really like this color combo and it was really easy to apply. I found that the brush applied the "dots" really evenly! Above I painted 2 coats of Salon Perfect Kaboom over 3 different polishes. On my ring finger is Revlon Eclectic, my middle finger is Essie First Timer, my ring finger has nothing other than Kaboom & my pinky finger is Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Parrot.
XOX ♥ Product Information Price: $8 Size: 0.46 fl oz (.04 oz smaller than normal polish) Buy At: Ulta Other Shades in the Collection: In The Cab-ana (bright blue), Under Where? (pink toned purple) & Come Here! (red-orange) Photo from Essie First Timer is described as an "adorable newbie green" by Essie. It's kind of a hard color to describe. It's a bright green with a minty tint, but I wouldn't call it mint or blue-green. The formula of this polish is a usual thickness, thinner than In The Cab-ana which is also from the Essie Resort 2013 Collection. You could just use one coat, but, I did two. This polish works much better with thicker coats, which does make it take longer to dry, but I've found that Essie polishes dry faster than other brands.
Have you picked up any of the 2013 Resort collection polishes? XOX ♥ While looking for speckled nail polishes, I came across the polish "Mermaid's Dream" from Deborah Lippman. I instantly noticed that it looked EXACTLY the same as my last Nails of the Day post that featured "Light Mint" from Love, Charlotte XO. Not only do they look the 100% the same in the bottle, they look 100% the same on the nails! In addition, the Deborah Lippman polish is $19, and its dupe is only $3.50! You can purchase this dupe at charlotterusse.com or at any Charlotte Russe stores.
