Before I could have another collective haul (which will be coming at the end of this week), I had to do some damage at Ulta. Plus, NYX was BOGO 50% off and NYX is my favorite drugstore brand. Also, I had some birthday money to have fun with.
I've fallen in love with my Real Techniques brushes in just a month and I decided to pick up the Travel Essentials kit that includes a Multi Tasking Face Brush, Foundation Brush and Domed Shadow Brush.
Essence Lipstick in the shade In The Nude. Despite the cheap prices and tiny display at Ulta, I've actually been really impressed by the products from this brand!
Another Maybelline Baby Lips? I have to say that I've become addicted to them. This is the limited edition shade, Melon Mania.
Like I said, NYX was BOGO 50% off, how could I not take advantage? I really like the 2 Butter Glosses I have and picked up this one in Apple Strudel.
Why get one, when you can get two? I also got a NYX Butter Gloss in Maple Blondie.
I love my NYX blushes and decided to pick up the shade Cinnamon, because I don't have an orange blush.
I got this concealer because I haven't seen any other drugstore concealers that are marketed as waterproof. I got this one in green because I don't have a green concealer.
Another NYX Lip product. I got the Soft Matte Lip Cream in Tokyo.
Last NYX item, I promise. This is the Extra Creamy Round Lipstick in Strawberry Milk.
Here's were the damage comes in. I finally splurged on a Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush. I got the Holiday 2012 Set of mini blushes and liked it, so I thought I'd get a full sized one. This is the shade Amused.
Okay, we're almost done with this haul. The last product I got is the Lorac Double Feature Concealer & Highlighter in Fair. This product is really unique in that it's a concealer stick, liquid highlighter and a rollerball to blend it all in.
Full posts on each of these products will be coming soon after the posts about the products in my Ipsy bag!
As you may have seen in my birthday haul, I got a 6 month subscription to Ipsy! If you haven't heard of Ipsy before it's a monthly subscription website where you get 4 or 5 products (frequently full sized) each month in a cute cosmetics bag for $10. See more on www.ipsy.com
Since this is my first bag, I thought I'd share about the shipping & package. My bag was shipped May 8th and arrived on May 15th, a day before it was expected to arrive. It actually got to the post office on May 11th and just wasn't delivered. These bags come in the mail and I'm not sure if they are every month, but this month the bag came in a cute pink envelope instead of a boring old yellow one.
This month's theme was Spring Fling and came in a teal & orange chevron/zig zag bag. It's not a super high quality bag but it's adorable and just an extra add in that other subscription programs don't have.
Zoya Nail Polish (FULL SIZED)
Price: $8 * http://www.artofbeauty.com/content/38/item/Zoya/Zoya-Nail-Polish-GeiGei-ZP651.html
Continuing with my trend of firsts, this is my first Zoya polish. I was excited when I learned that this month's bag included a polish from the Zoya Lovely Spring collection because I really wanted 3 from the collection. I wanted Blu, Jacqueline & Neely. Sadly, I didn't get any of those, instead I go the color Gei Gei / Gie Gie (The website says Gei Gei, but my polish says Gie Gie) This color is a light cool-toned pink with shimmer. It's an okay color, but, it's nothing special and is too pale for my pale skin. However, the formula is great. It's applies evenly and isn't too thick or thin. Swatches will come soon in the Nails section.
Anastasia Clear Brow Gel
Full Size Price: $22 http://www.anastasia.net/clear-brow-gel.html
I was very excited about this one, because I've wanted to try out the Anastasia brow gel for a while. I was going to get a tinted one earlier and got a brow powder kit from Sephora instead.
Pacifica Rollerball (FULL SIZED)
Price: $12 * http://www.pacificaperfume.com/roll-perfume/tahitian-gardenia-perfume-roll
Yep, you get a full sized rollerball in this Ipsy bag! I really like this because I've found that other subscription boxes have mini fragrance samples, while Ipsy gives you the real thing. I'm not really a floral scent fan, so I'm not crazy about this one, but I think I can warm up to it. I do think people who like floral perfumes will like this though.
Yaby Concealer Refill
Price: $5.06 * http://camerareadycosmetics.com/products/yaby-concealer-flawless-refill.html
I'm not sure if this is a full size because the website doesn't say how big the full sized concealer is. I'm going to assume that it isn't though because it is quite tiny. Ipsy selected the shade Vanilla for me, which is the palest shade they offered. I think it is a tiny bit too light, but not enough to notice. It's actually good because I have been wanting a lighter concealer for under the eyes. Review, swatches & photos will be coming soon.
Mirabella Colour Sheer Lipstick
Price: $22 * http://www.mirabellabeauty.com/lips/colour-sheers.html
Right here you get your money back for the bag plus $12. In this bag, I received a full sized Mirabella Colour Sheers Lipstick in the color Daydream. Daydream is a mauve pink with a tiny bit of frosty shimmer. I'm not a huge fan of mauve, so I wish I received a different color, but it's very comfortable on the lips and is smooth and easy to apply. Swatches, more photos & a review will be coming soon for this lipstick.
Another awesome thing about Ipsy, is that they give you a ton of deals and coupon codes so you can buy the full size or more of the products you got! Here's the deals for May 2013:
There are more deals, but, these are the ones for the products I received in my Ipsy bag.
I am really happy about my bag, however I found that most of the products weren't the right choice for me. Like the lipstick, while I like the formula, isn't a color I'm a fan of. Also, the concealer is a tad light. The rollerball is a floral scent, which I haven't ever liked. Lastly, I would have preferred a different Zoya shade. But, I do like the actual product of everything. I'm really excited to get my next bag and will probably subscribe after my 6 months end!
I didn't get these candles as a gift for my birthday, but, I bought them on my birthday and thought they were worth mentioning. These are the mini candles that are $4.50 a piece or 3 for $10 (I got 3, but 1 was for my sister) Here are my 2 new favorite scents, Mahogany Teakwood & Peach Bellini. Mahogany Teakwood looks like a sophisticated, boring scent, but it smells exactly like Abercrombie & Fitch. I'm in love with it because Abercrombie stores are my favorite scent! Peach Bellini on the other hand is one of the sweet and fruity scents. If you've had it before, it smells just like peach Sprite. It's peachy and fruity and just screams summer.
And here are the Sperrys I got. They are the Silver Glitter type.
Full posts for all these products are coming soon!
