I cannot believe that I have been blogging for two years already. VolleySparkle has come a long way since it first started, and is still improving. In the past blogging year my photo editing has improved and I started a Tumblr for VolleySparkle, which you can find here. Hopefully I will continue to improve the blog and of course test out more products and brands to review on the blog. I wanted to thank all of you guys out there that are reading this and that read my blog, and I hope that my reviews and comparison posts have helped you out in some way or another. I can't wait to keep blogging and I hope you have an amazing 2015!
MAC Myth - I am a big fan of nude lip products and Myth by MAC is my favorite nude lipstick. You can wear it opaque, sheered out, or mixed with other colors to make it more neutral and subtle.
Maybelline Brazen Berry Color Sensational Vivids - When I want a statement lip color, I tend to go for purple shades instead of a bright pink. Brazen Berry is the perfect pinky purple that isn't too bright.
Nyx Butter Glosses - The Butter Glosses are my favorite line of lip gloss and I own eighteen out of the twenty shades. They aren't thick or sticky and they have great color payoff.
Maybelline Color Elixirs - These glosses are one of the only glosses I like, and I used the Color Elixirs a ton this year. I currently have six shades and plan on purchasing more in the future.
Nyx London Soft Matte Lip Cream - I really like brown nudes and London is the perfect shade for my fair skintone. I love the formula of the Soft Matte Lip Creams; they are easy to apply and very comfortable on the lips.
Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Lip Balm - While this lip balm doesn't come with fancy packaging or flavors, it really works for me. My lips were extremely dry this summer and this was the only lip balm that helped. I keep this one next to my bed and put it on every night before bed.
EOS Honeysuckle Honeydew Lip Balm - I love EOS lip balms and this year the honeysuckle honeydew flavor has been my favorite. In addition to liking the scent, I also find this one to be a bit thicker and more moisturizing than most of the other EOS flavors.
Nivea A Kiss of Milk and Honey Lip Balm (not shown) - When I was really looking for hydration, this was my go to lip balm. I used up a tube of this this year and haven't repurchased yet, so it is not in the picture.
bareMinerals Ready Powder Foundation - This foundation is amazing. It has great coverage without looking cakey and it barely takes anything to blend out. This foundation covers pores, blemishes, uneven skintone and anything else.
Nyx Matte Finish Setting Spray - I use this spray everyday to complete my makeup routine. It makes all the products on my face look a bit less powdery and also lengthens the wear of all my makeup.
Maybelline Fit Me Stick Foundation - This has been my everyday foundation for most of the year. It is so quick to apply over a large area and is very easy to blend out. 115 Ivory is the perfect shade for my skin.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes - This line of blushes is really great; they are very pigmented and last for a very long time on the cheeks. I have five shades at the moment and hope to get more soon.
Jordana Blush Powders - These blushes have completely blown me away. They are under $3 and have an amazingly soft formula that is super pigmented and very easy to blend.
Nyx Sugar Mama Baked Blush - I love peachy shades for blush and I used Sugar Mama a ton this year.
Sleek Supreme iDivine Palette - I didn't think I would get a ton of use out of this palette when I bought it, but I have used it a lot this year. The mossy green shades in this palette are gorgeous and I go to this palette whenever I want a blue or green look.
Smashbox Full Exposure Palette - While I used a ton of palettes this year, this one was my favorite. I love the variety of warm and cool neutrals and the mattes have an amazing formula.
Inglot #318 Shadow - This is the best matte white shadow I have come across. It is super pigmented and never looks chalky. I use it a ton as an inner corner highlight and occasionally as a lid color or browbone highlight.
L'Oreal Liquid Diamond Infallible Shadow - This shade is a unique silver that is my go to whenever I want a silver lid color. It has a very buttery, smooth formula and amazing pigmentation.
Makeup Geek Peach Smoothie Eye Shadow - The hype is correct when it comes to this shadow. While it doesn't give much color to the crease, it makes all other colors you apply on top of it blend out effortlessly.
Sephora Pure White Nano Liner - I used a white or nude liner in the water line for the majority of the year and this was my go to liner. It's pigmented, but not too stark white and it is creamy and easy to apply.
Sephora Matte Brown Colorproof Liner - Unfortunately they discontinued this product during 2014, but I still love it. The applicator is very thin and applies the liner very precisely. It has a great formula and I like the dark brown color as an alternative to black.
Maybelline Clear Great Lash Mascara - I use a brow gel on a daily basis and enjoyed using this one all year. It holds my brows in place without making them hard or look unnatural.
Elf Eyelid Primer - If you have looked at any of my eye makeup looks, you would have seen that I use this primer before every look. Even if I am wearing minimal eye makeup, I use this primer every day. It extends the wear of my shadows and evens out the coloring on my lids.
Real Techniques Powder Brush - This is the best powder brush I have used and still love it two years after I bought it. It is a huge brush, so it can cover the entire face very quickly with powder.
Real Techniques Expert Face Brush - This is another favorite from last year that I having stopped loving. I use this brush everyday to blend out my foundation.
Sigma F05 Small Contour Brush - When ever I contour my face, this is my go to brush. The size works great for my cheekbones and the brush does a great job evenly applying and blending out my contour color.
Real Techniques Setting Brush - I don't use this brush a ton for setting my under eye concealer since I don't have bad under eye circles, but I use it a ton for my cheekbone highlight. The brush picks up the perfect amount of highlight and is a great shape and size for applying it to the top of the cheekbones or wherever you want to highlight.
Sigma E40 Blending Brush - I use this brush pretty much everyday to ensure that I don't have any harsh lines. I have yet to come across a dupe for this brush and it works great.
Sigma E25 Blending Brush - This has been my go to brush this year for applying and blending out my transition and crease shadow. The bristles are quite soft and the brush is the perfect shape and size for my eyes.
Sephora Dual Ended Crease/Liner Brush - This was one of the first brushes I ever bought, and unfortunately is no longer available. The crease side of this brush is very soft and works great for blending out a crease color or applying a transition shade. I also lover the flat liner brush for applying shadow on the lower lashline.
Coastal Scents Angled Liner Brush - I have a couple of these brushes and love using them to apply gel or powder liner as well as color to my brows. The brush is great quality, I haven't found any of the bristles to splay or fall out, and it is very inexpensive.
SuperNail Cuticle Oil - I have been regularly applying oil to my nails since the summer and have been quite happy with the results. I try to apply it three times a day and it keeps my nails feeling moisturized and just makes them look nicer. It has also drastically reduced how much my nails peel.
OPI Matte Nail Envy - I've been using this stuff for more than six years and still love it. I have somewhat weak nails and this stuff really helps to keep them from breaking. I apply it to my nails at least once a week.
Out The Door Top Coat - This is my holy grail top coat; it helps the nails dry and leaves them with a smooth, almost gel like feel. This top coat is pretty cheap and doesn't have the possible health concerns that Seche Vite has.
Sinful Colors Time Off Art Deco - I use this black striper all of the time for my nail art posts and I suggest it to anyone that is interested in any kind of nail art. It's very affordable and easily accessible.
OPI Alpine Snow - I have been on the hunt for a good white creme polish and this one is definitely the best. It's not thick or goopy and it is opaque with just two easy coats.
Orly Mirrorball - Good holographic polishes can be hard to come by, and this one is amazing.
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Red Carpet - as been my favorite red polish for a while and I used it a ton around the holidays. It's on my toe nails at the moment and I just removed it from my fingernails the other day.
Skin & Body
Bath & Bodyworks Pumpkin Latte & Marshmallow Lotion - This was my favorite scent from Bath & Bodyworks' fall collection and I have loved using this as my hand moisturizer for before I go to bed.
Formula 10.0.6 So Totally Clean Deep Pore Cleanser Acne Treatment - I already went through an entire bottle of this stuff this year and just had to repurchase it. I have noticed huge differences in my skin since I started using this product. I apply it with a cotton ball either in the morning or at night after I have washed my face.
Clean & Clear Advantage Daily Soothing Acne Wash - I bought this product after loving the scrub and was not disappointed. It is a foam wash, which I haven't seen from other skincare lines and really enjoy. This line of products works well for my skin and I really like the scent.
Clean & Clear Advantage Daily Soothing Acne Scrub - I actually got given this product at an event and just fell in love with it. The product is gentle enough to use everyday and has drastically helped clear up my skin.
Pacifica Tahitian Gardenia Rollerball - I was not a fan of this scent when I first got it in an Ipsy bag, but after a bit I fell in love with it. It's a unique floral scent that isn't like anything else in my perfume collection. Plus, it is very affordable and comes in many forms other than the rollerball.
Coach Poppy Rollerball - Poppy is the perfect mix of sweet and floral that works great on an everyday basis. I like all of the scents that Coach has released, but the original is still my favorite.
Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy - Viva La Juicy has been my favorite scent since it came out and it still is. I'm not one to spend a lot on a perfume, but this is an exception.
Taylor by Taylor Swift - as been my go to fragrance since I got it in April. The scent works for both day and night and the scent lasts on me a lot longer than other scents I have used.
Bath & Bodyworks Oahu Coconut Sunset - Although this is a summer scent, I still find myself using it even in the winter. It's light and not overwhelming and is the perfect coconut scent.
Tangle Teezer - I got this brush in March of 2013 and have never looked back. I don't think I will ever use a regular brush again! The Tangle Teezer removes tangles like no other and is a lot more gentle than typical hair brushes.
Goody Small Bobby Pins - While most people love the regular sized bobby pins, I find the small version to work much better. They can't hold quite as much hair as the regular size, but they hold my hair much better and they don't move around or fall out like the other ones do in my hair.
Organix Coconut Milk Anti Breakage Serum - I have been using this serum every time I wash my hair and feel that it has been helping my hair. I use about a dime sized amount just on the ends of my damp hair and it doesn't weigh it down or make it feel oily.
Mane 'n Tail Hair Strengthener Leave-in Conditioner - I've been trying to grow my hair out for a while and this product, I feel, has been helping. I spray it in my hair whenever it feels dry for instant moisture and also when my hair is damp to help strengthen it. Plus, it smells really good.
Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Beach Spray - I got the sample size of this last year in an Ipsy bag and enjoyed it so much that I splurged on the full size.
Batiste Dry Shampoo - I finally gave into the Batiste craze and agree that it is worth the hype. I've used the Blush scents as well as the blonde colored one and found that both do a great job at refreshing my roots and removing excess oil.
Bed Head 1" Curlipops Curling Wand - This has been the only curling iron I have used for pretty much the entire year. It gives me really nice soft curls that aren't too tight or too loose. I also like that the wand is not tapered which makes the curl the same size from top to bottom.
