Price: $49 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 0.51 oz / 14.5 g The Stila Eyes Are The Window Shadow Palette in Spirit is a palette of twelve mostly neutral shadows with a mixture of finishes. These palettes just came out and are available in three other varieties (body, soul & mind). Spirit comes in a durable rose gold plastic package with three S's and Stila's logo embossed on the lid. As far as shadow palettes go, the Eyes Are The Window palettes are relatively small, especially since they contain twelve shadows. The palette has a large square mirror, which I find is easier to use than the long rectangular mirrors found in other palettes. It doesn't come with any kind of applicator, but that's fine by me. All twelve shades had a nice formula and nice pigmentation, I didn't find any of the shadows to be duds. The shadows don't quite have a buttery soft texture, but they are not dry or chalky. Spirit has a nice variety of colors and the colors don't remind me of other popular neutral palettes (like Naked, Lorac Pro... etc.) Most of the shades are shimmery, but there are a few matte shades thrown in which allows you to get a complete look with just this palette. About half of the shades are classic neutrals, but the other half are a bit more on the colorful side, with pink or blue tones. The twelve shades are Kitten, Oasis, Wheat, Chinois, Puppy, Jezebel, Golightly, Slate, Pigalle, Barefoot, Espresso & Pewter. Kitten is a metallic pink toned ivory. It has a very buttery, smooth texture and great color payoff. Kitten is Stila's iconic color and it does not disappoint. The L'Oreal Infallible Shadow in Iced Latte is very close in formula and color, but I would say it's a bit less pink toned. Oasis is a metallic light yellow gold. It has the same great formula as Kitten and applies very smooth. Wheat is a metallic nude. Like the other two light metallic shades, Wheat has a buttery texture and great pigmentation. The last light shade is Chinois, a matte ivory. The formula of Chinois is quite smooth and soft, but it can be a bit powdery at times. Puppy is a matte medium warm brown. Puppy is a bit drier than Chinois and does need a little building up if used as a crease color, but I like that the palette includes a matte transition/crease color. Jezebel is a shimmery darker rose gold. It has a very nice smooth formula that applies very nicely to the lids. Golightly is a shimmery brown with a bit of a yellow undertone. It's formula is almost identical to Jezebel's formula. Slate is a shimmery grey that has a bit of a warm tint. Slate is very smooth and has a more buttery texture than Golightly and Jezebel. Pigalle is a burgundy with a bit of a sheen. Pigalle is quite pigmented, which can cause it to be a little powdery, but as long as you tap off your brush before application, you should be fine. Barefoot is a warm shimmery brown. Barefoot has great pigmentation and a buttery smooth texture. Espresso is a dark brown with the slightest sheen. It feels slightly dry and does apply a bit chalky, so it does need two swipes to have opaque coverage. Last is Pewter, a bluish dark grey shimmer. Pewter has a great, buttery formula with just as nice pigmentation. XOX ♥
