Price: $15 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 0.45 oz The Makeup Revolution Ultra Cream Contour Palette consists of four highlighting and four contour shades. The Ultra Cream Contour Palette comes in the same black packaging as Makeup Revolution’s other palettes. The shades have nice pigmentation, but are not super intense, so I do not think this palette would be ideal for darker skin tones. The texture of the creams is pretty thin and slippery, which has its pros and cons. The slippery texture tends to be easier to blend out than a drier cream product. Because the creams have a thin formula, they aren’t as intensely pigmented, but that could be good or bad depending on your preferences. The creams also have a bit of a dewy finish, which may or may not be what you are looking for with a cream contour palette. While the formula of the palette is not perfect, you do not see many cream contour palettes at drugstore prices, and it still gets the job done, so I will continue to use it. XOX ♥

Price: $55 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 21 x 0.04 oz The Urban Decay Full Spectrum Palette is a 21 shadow palette full of color. Each shade has a dark, bright and pastel version as you go down each column. The packaging of the Full Spectrum Palette is so pretty; I love the rainbow faceted UD on the front. Functionality wise, the palette is annoying to open because it doesn't open right in the center since the lid folds down over the entire palette. The shadows appear to be the same size as pans in the Naked palettes, but they each are 0.04oz, versus the 0.05oz of the Naked shadows. The price of the Full Spectrum Palette is a bit difficult to justify for me, since not all of the shadows are quite up to par. The top row, with the dark shadows all perform great and are nicely pigmented. The middle row is pretty nice, but the bottom row is a dud for me. The first three shades on the bottom row (Paranoia, Jones and Goldmine) all need a lot of layering to get decent color payoff, which is not something I want in a $55 palette. So while I like the top row and I think the colors are unique, they are not worth the other two iffy rows. I could maybe justify the pigmentation if this was a drugstore palette, but it's Urban Decay. I would definitely recommend the Nyx Ultimate Palette in Brights ($18) if you are looking for a fun, bright array of colors. I own many Urban Decay eye shadow palettes, so this one was really just a letdown in comparison. XOX ♥
Price: $44 * Buy At: Sephora * Size: 9 x 0.04 oz The Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows 4 Palette comes with nine small matte eyeshadows (0.04 oz each versus 0.07 oz of the single shadows) The Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows 4 Palette comes in a cute sturdy square package. Like all of Make Up For Ever’s eyeshadows, the colors do not have names, they are all assigned numbers as you can see on the back of the palette. The palette is suggested to be used in columns, using the black, grey and white together, the pinky tones together, and the dark teal, beige and ivory together. The worst shade in the palette has got to be the black. You can hardly see a difference between it and the dark grey. The darker pink shade also appears pretty dry in the swatch, but it does apply to the eyes better than it swatches. I found that to be true for a majority of the shades. As you can probably see in the swatches, the shades appear a bit on the dry side, but they do apply evenly to the eyes and blend out easily. XOX ♥
Makeup Revolution New-Trals vs Neutrals Professional Eyeshadow Palette | Review & Swatches10/19/2016 Price: $10 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 0.56 oz The Makeup Revolution New-trals vs Neutrals Professional Eyeshadow Palette consists of sixteen neutral shadows, in a variety of finishes. The New-trals vs Neutrals Palette comes in the same black packaging as Makeup Revolution’s other palettes. As you can see--especially in the top row--this palette has some pigmentation issues. The first three shades in my first swatch photo are hardly visible, and that is not because of the lighting or anything, the shadows are really that sheer. In Ulta, there are not testers of Makeup Revolution products so I just bought it after seeing some online swatches, but the quality of this palette looked nothing like the photos I looked at. This palette really just disappointed me, especially since I have other Makeup Revolution products that I quite enjoy. Because of this palette, I don’t think that I will be trying out other Makeup Revolution eyeshadow palettes, but will still try other products from the brand. I rarely have negative product reviews, so this is a real bummer. XOX ♥
Price: $25.50 * Buy At: Zoeva's Website * Size: 10 x 0.05 oz The Zoeva En Taupe Eyeshadow Palette contains ten shadows that are predominantly cool toned. Zoeva advertises that the shadows are formulated without parabens, phthalates, mineral oils or fragrances. The En Taupe Eyeshadow Palette comes in a thin cardboard package with a magnetic closure. There is no mirror inside, but that really doesn’t matter to me at all. I received a bad batch when I first bought this palette, but Zoeva was very kind and quickly sent me a new one, with shipping covered, which makes me love the company even more! The palette comes with three matte shades that are great for the crease and one matte highlight shade, which I appreciate. The rest of the palette has some shimmer, three are dark and two are light. I would compare the formula of the shadows the most to Urban Decay, as they are smooth without being super soft, and have nice and even pigmentation. I wouldn’t call the pigmentation super intense like Lorac shadows, but they are easy to apply and they blend out super easily on the eyes. A variety of eye looks can be achieved using only this palette, but a deeper brown or black would be nice to use in combination since there aren’t any super dark shadows. XOX ♥
Price: $59 * Buy At: Sephora * Size: 22 x 0.06 oz The Kat Von D MetalMatte Eyeshadow Palette consists of thirteen matte and nine metal finish shadows in a variety of neutral and colorful shades. The Kat Von D MetalMatte Eyeshadow Palette is made of sturdy carboard. The palette is very large--it is probably the longest palette I own. As you can see in the pictures of the palette, it says "matte" or metal" depending on which way you hold it. The matte shadows are all aligned on the bottom half of the palette and go from cool to warm, for the most part. The metallic shadows are laid out along the top and are circles instead. Large palettes like this often are a rip-off in terms of product size. Every shadow in the MetalMatte palette is 0.06 oz, 0.01 oz larger than a typical shadow, which is great! This palette is an easy review for me. I absolutely love this palette, I don't think I have been this impressed by a palette in quite a while! The matte shadows are just gorgeous, they are so intense and pigmented. The colorful matte shades have an amazing formula; I would even go as far to say that they are some of the best colorful matte shadows that I've ever tried. The cobalt blue, Velour, especially blew me away. All of my swatches are just once swipe with no sort of primer underneath. If you are familiar with Kat Von D's Shade + Light palettes, then you will know how great her eyeshadow formulas are. If you are familiar with her Metal Crush shadows, then you can also imagine the formula of these metallic shades. This palette really has it all: gorgeous mattes, intense metallics, warm colors, cool colors, neutrals and bright colors. Every shadow is smooth, soft and highly pigmented and they are so easy to blend. I think this palette is just so unique, and I am sure that this will be a palette that sells out quickly! XOX ♥
Price: $45 * Buy At: Ulta The Lorac Pro Contour Palette is a slim palette with three highlight powders and three contour powders. All the shades are matte, with the exception of the shimmery highlight. The Lorac Pro Contour Palette has the same rubberized packaging as the Pro Palettes, which is nice and compact, but will get dirty faster than other kinds of packaging. The formula of the highlight and contour powders is very similar in texture to the shadows in the Lorac Pro palettes. The powders all have a very soft texture, making them prone to powder kick up. This is not a big problem, especially if you tap off your brush before applying product to the face. The color selection of this palette works quite well on my fair skintone. This is quite nice to see, since many contour palettes have a lot of shades that are too dark for me, or they have contour shadows that are far too warm in tone. This being said, this palette probably would not work well for darker skintones. XOX ♥
Price: $54 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 12 x 0.05 oz The Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette is the fourth full sized shadow palette in the Naked family. Like the others, Naked Smoky is made up of twelve shadows. The color scheme of the palette is mostly cool toned, designed, clearly, for smoky eye looks. The Naked Smokey Palette comes in a hard, plastic package with a really cool smokey design. It is definitely my favorite packaging out of the Naked Palettes. Unlike most palettes, the light shades can be found on either end of the palette, and the dark shades are located in the middle. Originally I was not interested in the palette since it is marketed for doing smokey eye looks, but once I swatched it, I was sold and I had to finish my Naked Palette collection. While you definitely could create a smokey look using the palette, it has enough lighter and midtone shadows to create a variety of eye looks. Something I am not crazy about with this palette is that there really is a lack of transition shades. Combust is the closest thing to one, but it is still a bit on the light side. So, in order to use the darker shades from the palette, I would suggest adding a separate transition shade to make the blending process easier. The shadow formula is fairly consistent across the board. The only shade that is lacking a bit in pigmentation is Armor. XOX ♥
Price: $25 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 8 x 0.09 oz The Nyx Highlight & Contour Pro Palette comes with four contour and four highlight shades. The Highlight & Contour Pro Palette is rather big and bulky and has a clear lid. The palette is designed to be able to remove shades and replace or refill them, but I find it difficult to actually get the pans out of the palette. The texture of the shades is quite soft, but they do have some significant powder kick up, which is not always the best for highlight and contour shades. The color variety within this palette should suit most skin tones. Because of this, personally, a couple of the colors are much to dark to be used on my skin, but I plan on replacing those shades with blushes and saving them for use on other people. Although this palette is up-there in price when it comes to drugstore items, it is more affordable than similar highend products. My favorite contour palette is the one from IT Cosmetics, and I will say that the Nyx palette is comparable. The only thing I’m not crazy about is, as I mentioned earlier, the bulky packaging, but that can be overlooked for the product quality. XOX ♥
Price: $45 * Buy At: Ulta * Size: 9 x 0.035 oz & 3 x 0.11 oz The Tarte Grav3yard Girl Swamp Queen palette is a twelve shadow collection in collaboration with Bunny, AKA Grav3yard Girl. I have been a fan of hers for years now, and am happy to support her! The palette has a wood grain design, which I find super cute. The inside of the palette has a large mirror. Within the twelve shadows, three of them are much larger, which reminds me of Too Faced’s style of palettes. The shadows' names are all inspired by Bunny and her videos, which is super cool since I have been subscribed to her for a while. Each row is broken down pretty much by a color family--the top row is warm, peachy neutrals, the middle row is more on the pink side & the bottom row gets more of a violet tone. Let me just start off by saying, the pigmentation of these shadows is amazing. Every shade is buttery and has intense color payoff. I love all the colors in the palette, even the pink, which is not a shade I tend to gravitate towards. The only thing that would make this palette better for me would be a matte dark brown or black shade for adding definition at the lashline. Overall, I love this palette and am quite happy that I got my hands on it! XOX ♥
