I did a Naked 2 & Lorac Pro palette comparison post a while ago, but that was before I started taking pictures with my nice camera and I recently got the original Naked palette, so I thought I'd compare all 3 palettes! I hope this post is helpful! (Warning: this post is pretty long!) Product InformationLorac Pro PaletteCONTAINS: 16 Shadows x 0.02 oz & 0.17 oz Mini Behind The Scenes Eye Primer PRICE: $42 for 0.32 oz SHADES: (Mattes) White, Cream, Taupe, Lt. Pink, Mauve, Sable, Espresso, Black, (Shimmer) Nude, Champagne, Gold, Lt. It's a better deal than the Naked palettes that only have 12 shadows for $50!" While that's what it can look like, it's not the truth. As you can see in the price, you are paying $42 for only 0.32 oz of product, while for $50 you get 0.6 oz of product in both Naked palettes. This is because each Lorac Pro shadow is only 0.02 oz, while each Naked shadow contains 0.05 oz of product. The Naked palettes also come with a nice brush, so while I still like the Lorac Pro palette and love the shade variety, the Naked palette and Naked 2 palette are a better value and you get more for your money. However, if you want the bigger variety of colors & finishes, than the Lorac Pro may be a better value for you. Packaging The Naked, Naked 2 & Lorac Pro palettes are all roughly the same size on the top. Where the size difference really comes in is the thickness. The Naked & Naked 2 are about the same thickness and the Lorac Pro is much thinner. This is because the Lorac Pro shadows contain less product. Despite the thickness, the Naked & Lorac Pro have similar packaging. They both are made of thinner cardboard that is kept closes by a magnet. The Naked 2 has a metal-like package that kind of snaps closed. I find that The Naked & Lorac Pro are a little easier and quicker to open, but I feel that the Naked 2 palette is going to stay closed and that the packaging will last longer. Lastly, they all have a mirror. Naked's being the smallest, Lorac Pro's in the middle & Naked 2's being the largest. Swatches & Shadow ComparisonsIn all the swatch pictures, shades written in yellow are from the Lorac Pro palette, shades in pink are from the Naked palette and shades in green are from the Naked 2 palette. Light ShadesBoth Naked palettes have 2 light shades, while the Lorac Pro has 5. First up is Foxy from the Naked 2 palette. Foxy is a matte ivory shade that doesn't show up on me at all because it's about the same color as my skin. The next 3 shades are matte and from the Lorac Pro. White & Lt. Pink are very smooth and pigmented! Cream on the other hand, doesn't have the same pigmentation. Virgin from Naked, Bootycall from Naked 2 & Champagne from Lorac Pro are all very similar. Nude from Lorac Pro and Sin from Naked are also quite alike. I also want to point out that Nude & Champagne from the Lorac Pro are extremely buttery, smooth and pigmented. Golds & BronzesEach of the palettes have a great gold. Half Baked from Naked & Naked 2 is a shimmery gold that is super pigmented and buttery. Chopper from Naked 2 is a sparkly copper shade that is also amazingly pigmented. The Lorac Pro also provides a very smooth gold shade, named Gold. This one is more yellow and a little more copper looking than Half Baked. Lorac Pro also a more neutral bronze shadow named Lt. Bronze. This shade was buttery as well, but not as pigmented as the other gold/bronze colors. Matte BrownsI'm a big fan of matte browns, so I really like that the Lorac Pro comes with 4 different shades. Naked from the Naked palette was a pretty light brown that is great to use as a transition shade. Taupe from Lorac Pro is similar but darker than Naked. Buck from Naked is very similar to taupe but it's a little warmer than Taupe. Tease from Naked 2 is one of my most used shadows, this mid-tone taupe is a great crease color. Lorac Pro's Mauve is similar to Tease and is also a favorite crease color of mine. Mauve is more purple than Tease. Lastly are Sable and Espresso from Lorac Pro. They are both dark browns, Sable being more of a red-brown. Neither Naked palettes have a matte dark brown. Shimmery BrownsThe most popular shades in the palettes were shimmery browns. About half of them are more rosey, cool toned brown and half are warm toned browns. I wouldn't consider any of these shadows dupes for shadows from the other palettes, except for Darkhorse from the Naked Palette with Busted from the Naked 2 Palette. All of these shades were very smooth and pigmented and had very similar formulas. (I forgot to swatch Hustle, so I just added it in on the end from my Naked Palette post) Blacks & GreysEach of the palettes include a shade that looks black in the pan. Blackout from the Naked 2 was the most black, Black from the Lorac Pro was more of a matte dark grey & Creep from Naked was a dark grey with glitter. Slate from Lorac Pro was a dark shimmery blue-grey. Gunmetal from Naked was similar to Slate but a little lighter and less blue. The Naked 2 has 2 true silver colors, Pistol and Verve which are both shimmery. Other ColorsThe Lorac Pro palette is the only palette to have some colors that aren't neutral. It contains the shade Garnet, which is a really pretty shimmery red & Deep Purple, which is a dark shimmery purple. Which Is Right For You?If you are in love with all of the shades from all of these palettes, I would probably suggest the Naked or Naked 2 over the Lorac Pro. While you get a nice amount of matte & shimmer shades, as well as 4 more shades, it doesn't contain as much product and I find that the Naked & Naked 2 palette shades are all easily blendable and super pigmented. I do sometime have trouble with some shades from the Lorac Pro.
If you can't decide between Naked & Naked 2, as lots of people can't, I think it just comes down to if you like warm or cool colors better. I got the Naked 2 almost a year before the Naked because I find that cool colors flatter my blue eyes and cool skin tone the best. I also think you can get the best idea about which palette you want by swatching them in a store to see them in real life. All these palettes are great for people who have a small or huge collection. They all come with a nice variety of dark, light, matte and shimmery shadows and have an unlimited amount of looks that can be created with them! I hope this post was helpful! XOX ♥
